I’m the first to admit: On a Slow News Day, I’m liable to put anything up in this space. But I do have a line, unlike some other Web sites. For instance, a couple have posted entries recently, featuring a You Tube video of Jena 6 member Robert Bailey Jr. flossin’ with some cash in his hand. They strongly suggest that the money dude’s flashing belongs to the Defense Fund, which many of you probably donated to. I have a big problem with this. Bossip.com, one site feeding off the idea, has no clue where Bailey’s money came from, and furthermore, has no evidence that even suggests that it’s donation cash. They even go so far as to compare dude to Ben Chavis, who inappropriately used NAACP funds back in the day. Is Bailey corny for throwin’ up his stacks, actin’ like a thug baller? Probably. Is he misusing Jena 6 Defense Funds? We have no idea. Why start a serious controversy where there is none. Alright I’m off the soap box. Is anybody wit me on this? Or with Bailey’s video and two other Jena 6 boys showin’ up at awards shows, are y’all sorry you supported Jena 6 in the first place?

Bryant Purvis and Carwin Jones (Jena 6) showed up on the red carpet at the BET Awards over the weekend, and took in the after party, too. Um, why? Are they celebrities now? Does this make anybody else out there pause?
