Mrs. Mariah Carey showed up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday to reveal details about her impulsive marriage to Nick Cannon.

 ”We wanted to be at the beach, we didn’t want other people taking pictures, because we both experienced the hoopla of trying to make something into, like, a publicity stunt, which is what everybody thinks and will think anyway,” she said. (YUP!)

“We don’t really care about that mentality. Instead of trying to be like, ‘You’re invited, but shhh, don’t tell anybody,’ we’re just going to have another [wedding] next year. [Nick’s] plan is to have one every year.”

That’s so romantic!!!!

After we shot down the very idea of Mariah dating Nick Cannon, now there’s speculation that the two are engaged. Is this a calculated attempt to get Nick some PR? Sorry, we’re still skeptical. But according to PEOPLE, something’s going on:

Wearing a humongous, gleaming ring on her left hand, Mariah Carey stayed close to Nick Cannon at the afterparty for her new film, Tennessee, on Saturday night.

The pair held hands at the bash at Cadillac Lounge at Tenjune, which followed the movie’s premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. The two also looked cozy in Vegas on April 14. When asked about a possible engagement, Cannon’s rep had no comment; Carey’s was unable to be reached for comment. Asked what he loved about Carey, Cannon, 27, told PEOPLE: “Everything.” He was at her side from 8 p.m. to about 10:45 p.m. in Tenjune’s VIP room, where they were joined by her BFF, Da Brat.

A source close to Carey has confirmed to Access Hollywood that the engagement is indeed real. But neither party is commenting. Are they trying to pull a Bey-Jay? IF it’s true, we think so….

In her own sweet, self-centered way, Mariah Carey says the whole mommy thing is not for her.

From the NY Daily: Her 40th birthday is approaching, but Carey told a reporter that she has no desire to have children. “It’s hard to have kids in this world. I don’t think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven’t thought about it.” Carey said having children would leave her feeling “violated… I know that’s a kind of weird thing to say, but that’s how I am. For now I enjoy my dog Jack’s company. It’s definitely because of childhood traumatic stuff. The whole not wanting to have a baby as a baby.”

Or, maybe you don’t wanna ruin your new bodaciaous figure, Mimi. Still kudos for being honest amid all the baby fever in Hollywood.

After landing by private jet, the pair headed straight to Privé Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood, where Cannon, who stars in one of Carey’s videos, was scheduled to deejay. Making their way to a VIP table, the pop diva whispered into Cannon’s ear just before he took to the turntables…He also seemed to give Carey a “secret” shout-out. Carey stood up on the back of the booth and raised her wine glass when Cannon put on Jay-Z’s “Public Service Announcement” and sang along with the lyrics, “I got the hottest chick in the game.”

Not believin’ it. Mimi has done better, and can do better than some Nick Cannon. C’mon.

Mimi might be a diva, but she’s no slut-puppy. When asked about her relationship with Eminem, she reportedly told the Times of London: “Please! I never had any type of sexual relationship with that man. I can count the number of people I’ve had sex with on fewer than the fingers on one hand.”

So that’s Tommy Mottola, Derek Jeter, the Latin singer and that other guy. Yep, that’s less than five!

We didn’t need Mariah Carey to tell us she never made the following comment about performing with J.Lo:

“I’d rather be on stage with a pig — a duet with Jennifer Lopez and me just ain’t going to happen.”

Mimi’s divalicious, but not THAT divalicious. In response, she says: “This is just some Internet gossip and it’s pathetic that people actually entertain the thought that this could be real.”

Truth be told, Mimi would blow J.Lo out the water with her vocal stylings. But she’d never say that out loud.
