Don Imus: Man of the Year?

November 26th, 2007

Of all the (mostly vile) names Don Imus has been called in 2007, some might not think ”Man of the Year” would ever be attributed to this man. But King magazine does, and crowned the infamous shock jock so in their Year-End Issue on stands Nov. 27.

“It took only three words from one mouth to ignite a firestorm of debate and a full-blown incursion into hip-hop. For having such impact, Mr. Don Imus—the original radio bad boy—is our Man of the Year,” reports the mag’s web site.

What do you think? Should Imus be put on a pedestal for stirring up a conversation or are the editors of King on crack?

So what does that really say about KING Magazine.Your honoring a @%$#@ @*&%#@ who degraded Black women in the worst way,not to mention that sister’s are 95% of your cover.

That’s the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Man of the year for what? King Magazine should be given the most ill informed magazine of the year. They obviously have not been paying attention to what we have been saying as black people.. They must have been bought out by white people.

This does not surprise me. This is just ANOTHER reminder that racism is indeed alive and well in America.

While this does stir up some controversy this is Hollywood and Hollywood is about making money. Unfortunately, in order to make money you have to be a hot commodity you have to be on the minds of consumers and what better way to draw attention to yourself then to do something controversial like make Don Imus “Man of the Year!” Even if you think it is the most idiotic thing for King Magazine to do and say that you will not support something so stupid your curiosity will most likely get the best of you and inquiring minds would want to know why and you will do exactly what King Magazine wants you do to….purchase the magazine.

This is an insult to all of us African Americans. I will not spend one cent purchasing a King Magazine. This man is a hates Blacks, who help build this country to what it is in a positive sense and then he degrades our women! King magazine should be ashamed and we as Blacks need to boycott every product it advertises! I will alert my church over 2500 strong saints where not to buy and not to shop!! God Bless the real America

I guess everyone that makes a racist comment get praises for it. I’m waiting to see what dog the bounty hunter gets.

lets face it, all of us has a certain amount of RACISM deep down inside. mainly because RACISM has not been sincerely confronted in America! don imus is a joke, but what about the Senators of were and or are Knights of the Golden Circle (KKK Members)?

{sigh) I don’t even know what to say … YES, his comments stirred up a big dialog in America but to recognize him as “Man of The Year” is straight up non-sense! we are the only race of people to do that! after the man has degraded & insulted us, KING mag still finds him worthy of being named “Man of The Year”. Why are some of us are so BACKWARDS in our thinking??? same goes for the N-word! we seem to tolerate and accept the worst actions/statements being made against us by PRAISING them. it makes me sick. Shame on KING mag
