Page Six is reporting that Common is all smitten over Serena Williams?
“The 2003 Wimbledon champ, dressed in a shiny baby-doll dress, was spotted holding hands and getting “very close” with rapper Common last week at Tenjune during a party for her sister Venus. ‘They were very friendly, arm-in-arm. She looked great,’ said a spy. ‘All night they were sitting together. They were keeping it cool, but you could tell Common likes himself some Serena. I asked a friend of his and was told they are dating.’”
Do you believe this? I don’t know. I can’t see Common, whose on the little side, trying to handle all that woman. Plus, Serena’s dated so many white guys, I also can’t see her with a brother.
WTF kinda messed up comment is that to make? I’m convinced the author of this blog entry is a complete idiot.
What do you mean by “all that woman”. Serena is smart and has a beautiful body. I love the idea that this rich and famous brother is dating a sister, and not some half breed almost white spanish girl. If this story is true, leave them alone and let them be. AND, I am glad that Usher married a black woman. This reaffirms in my mind that not all brothers chase white trash.
So what if she has dated white men in the past it doesn’t change who she is as a woman and who she chooses to date. Let them be.

About the comments on Serena dating white men, I agree who cares! And besides I think you may have her mistaken for her sister. Serena has actually been seen with a black male actor…..do your research.

From what I know serena williams is and has been dating Jackie Long (ATL, THe Comebacks) for a while now. You can check out his interview on allhiphop.com where he address rumors of them expecting a child. Also you can check their myspaces. she is pictures with him alot.
They make a nice looking couple.
I will say this I have dated white men before but that doesn’t mean that I won’t date a black Man. I normally date black men but will not rule out anyone else because of race. Race has nothing to do with who will I like. CHARACTER DOES. I date a man that knows how to be a man. Black, White or otherwise. Just because you date outside your race doesn’t mean you won’t date inside of it too.

I’m glad two black folks are together finding love with one another, seeing as how black folks need to love and appreciate each other more. Having said that, I find it hypocritical for some of these ugly looking, dark skinned black women on here (not all dark skinned black women are ugly, just the ones who are on this thread), complaining about brothers getting with lighter skinned black women, as if they (darker skinned black women) are more blacker, or purer, than lighter skinned black women: BLACK IS BLACK! So I see, a lighter skinned black man, with a darker skinned black woman, is viewed as a hero, whereas a darker skinned black man with a lighter skinned black woman, is viewed as a damnable thing? How about if lighter skinned black women, or a lighter skinned black woman, preferred darker skinned black men-are you saying that she ought not, or they ought not, go after their passions.

I think they both are amazing models for the black community so why not put their greatness together? Common is one of few rappers that I find has a greater way to “express” himself and I never hear bad things about Serena. We need more folks that represent love the right way so if they are dating I say go head with ya bad selves!
I read an article that said Common was dating Keri Washington and has been for several months now………don’t know how true it is

Such public scrutiny breeds negativity and only contributes to the reasons why we don’t see as many famous black couples together. Many of the successful black couples we do have choose to keep their relationship very secretive to be avoid the very scrutiny taking place here. This is also unfortunate because those who see the beauty in their relationships are not provided with the positive image that might inspire more healthy black relationships.
To me, COMMON is a deep thinker, and as fate would have it, he found a deep thinker to date. Serena is such a well-rounded celebrity, and as commented earlier, her reputation is clean. I sympathize celebrities sometimes. It must be hard to find someone with something in COMMON. I just wish I heard their first conversation. God Bless them.
