those men have huge congregations and obviously their church members must think that they are doing a great job at leading the church and bringing people to hear the word of god. They are blessed and should be able to ride what they want too and live a great life as long as they are doing what they are supose to be doing with their church. Can i get an Amen?……

I think they are wrong when they have members in their congregations who are barely making ends meet and they are driving Bentleys and driving Rolls Royces. How bout they help those people and pay a bill or two, My grandfather is a preacher and I grew up in the church and I think they are just doing to much. Now I know they but in lots of hours and desire some of the finer things in life but when is it to much.

since when do we have to put a limit on what GOD blesses us with? that is crazy! my uncle is a pastor and he was well of before he started preaching is he suppose to downgrade so members should feel better? or should he be an example of what GOD can bless you with? the world is really being nosey and the members are hating because things areall that lavish for them but i believe if you live right you will be blessed just like they are.

I think that they should help the church members get the help they need once a mth. and help give food and cloths for the hoildays for those who can’t give their child a good gift of life . i think they need to slow down and stop taking the money and living their life like they are rich using Gods money i hope they are paying 10% of their money to God. Men and women of God are to be blessed people, we all are(those who accept Christ), but many are called and few are chosen. They are living their lives how God wants them to and making examples of them. Who is going to follow a broke pastor? I don’t think these pastors are doing anything wrong. I’m a member of WWCI and I love Pastor Dollar. I have been blessed financially and spritually since attending his church and I’m going to continue attending his church. Just like LaTaveya stated “if you live right you will be blessed just like they are”. Instead of hating, join the bandwagon and watch God move in your life.

I believe that GOD is an AWESOME GOD who rewards HIS children.All PASTORS if they are in the will of GOD will live the good life because that is what GOD our FATHER has told us in HIS WORD as referred to the B.I.B.L.E. Well, I believe the focus shouldn’t be soley on the mega-church ministers but what kind of fruit have they caused to grow in others lives since their ministries have existed. There should be accountability systems set in place no matter how large or small the ministry. Christian are individuals who are striving to manifest Christ on the earth. So our standards of living should reflect our relationship with Christ.

The questions should be, how many people are gainfully employed because of the ministries existence? Has the community where their churches are domicled been impacted enough that the quality of life in that community has been enhanced? What does their total ministry budget support; i.e personnel, missions, aids awareness, substance abuse programs, youth programs, housing programs, mentoring programs etc.

We have to remember that these types of ministries have been able, to some degree, marry business and spiritual life together. So if their are standards of integrity, morality and character for the CEO of Fortune 500 companies then those leaders in the body of Christ should lead the way and even surpass worldly standards.

These are just a few thoughts to ponder. The body of Christ has too long allowed the world to be the judge and set our standards. Let’s get in our rightful places and deal with each other by the rule of God that will bring humility and understanding not humiliation and confusion.

I dont knock the Pastor for brainwashing (Thats what I call it) his people, but if they(THe Church) are to dumb to give that money so they can be broke, and the Pastor is in a nice ride, then it’s up to them. I am not givng nobody money to support their expensive living habits, if I am struggling, so Pastors get your hustle on, but you wont get no more than my 10%.

A christian should not live in extremes i.e. poverty or extreme luxury. Jesus came that we would have life and have it more abundantly, however there is something very vulgar about extreme bling.

We are so caught up on outer appearances. We place too much value on the car someone drives, what designer made the suit or dress someone is wearing. Personally, when I’m watching or listening to a minister teaching the word of God I don’t want to see bling and some fancy pimp suit and manicured nails, etc… and theatricals… and being told to “turn to my neighbor and tell them this or that” or turn around five times and shout two times or whatever.”
Whatever happened to ministers being humble and not so self-centered?
This is just my opiion, but I say, sale the mansions and fancy cars. Take the money and build homes for some of these homeless people walking aimlessly around the city. Build free clinics for all these people who don’t have health insurance. Or, Ministers… open up the doors to your mansion and minster (not from behind camera lenses on Sunday morning) but across your diningroom table to young children with incarcarated parents. Use your private jet to fly some poor people somewhere for free…just because.
When I hear about men of God living in mansions and driving expensive cars….and I see/hear about people losing homes, living on the street, or can bearing feed their children…something is wrong with that. My conscious wouldn’t let me sleep. Again, this is just my point of veiw. It probably don’t mean nothing to nobody but me.

She said she prays the Lord will somehow use her husband’s murder to bring people to Christ. The bible says, “what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Well, in America souls sell real cheap!!! And then we dress it up send it to church on Sunday OR put it in the pulpit and call it “Christian and Pastor”. Men and women who REALLY name the name of Christ are suffering for that name. Tell the Chinese in the underground churches who meet secretly just to read the bible and pray with one another that they are somehow “less” acknowledged or “blessed” by God because they lack material wealth. The last time I checked the bible said, “everything in THIS world was passing away, but God’s Word would stand forever!” The world is laughing at the church in America because we look like a bunch of well dressed, wealthy, and healthy heathens!!! This is one reason why I don’t go to church. All that extravagence is just too much for me. I grew up in the Catholic church and there wasn’t all that “extra-ness.” You came, prayed and after an hour, you went home. I don’t like the idea of pastors having Bentley’s and private jets…for what??? If you’re a “person of God” you don’t need all that to “spread the Gospel.”

I concur shannon, Jesus walked the streets among whoremongers and thieves, he wasn’t chauffered around in a chariot, he did not wear gold peices around his neck or fingers.. That being said i do believe God wants us to live in prosperity but there are times when riches become ostentatious, offensive and repulsive. Here in houston a certain pastor rides a helicopter from one church in one area of houston to another, but when one of his parishioners needed help with rent, that person was told they could not be helped util at least a few days, but the money did not come.

I think it’s funny how people say “Read your Bible” and thisis the same thing these Men and Women of God teach from everyday. I pray that one of you critics would read 1st or 2nd Corinthians 9, the story of Elisha and the widow woman or even understand that the Bible never says Christ wanted for anything. Abraham, David, Solomon and the nation of Israel as a whole when they were obedient were all blessed materially. Duet 28 lays out serious blessing in the OT that most NT believers don’t come close to living in. Which is funny because we are suppose to be in a new covenant with better promises. Instead we are in debt and don’t own anything. In the OT physical blessing was measured in cattle, land, gold silver and crops. Although it is the 21st century and we don’t live in an agricultural society the blessing still applies and fits with our cultural context. I am aware of the Ministries that are being looked into. They all pour millions of dollars back into the kingdom of God and touch people worldwide. Although that fact is hardly ever mentioned…Bottom line what did Jesus say…Ill tell you…he never had a problem with wealth, if he did he would have said the blessing portion of Duet 28 and 8:18 no longer applied. What Jesus addressed was stewardship and integrity of heart. He must be first in front of everything. So if you have proven faithful and are not in bondage to wealth he has no problem with you being a billionaire. Most of the ministries under question own there sanctuaries and are not in debt, therefore the income they get goes back into furthering the kingdom. Most churches are in debt and don’t have the resources to do much damage to the darkness around them.. Coca cola and Pepsi has evangelized the whole world in less than 100 years and the church has had 2000 years and is still behind what’s the difference ,Money. Also, God is not on a budget he owns everything… so a pastor having expensive things doesn’t put a drain on the kingdom storehouse… If God wanted to he could end poverty right now. My prayer is Lord give me a pure and dedicated heart so that I can enjoy the blessings you give me and be able to at drop of a dime give them up for the kingdom!

A word for the lady who mentioned the persecuted churches. I agree on one point. We in America need some persecution, it would make us more dedicated…However, just because there are places that don’t seem to be prospering within their cultural context doesn’t mean it is not the word or will of God. We can’t base our doctrine on experience. There are heaven bound Jesus loving Christians who do great work for the kingdom who don’t believe God heals anymore. The bible states that all believers are to do the works of Jesus (john 14:12) and the testimony of millions of people worldwide attest that Jesus is still healing. Are we to say Healing no longer occurs because there are well meaning heaven bound people who don’t believe in or experience divine healing. Not at all ,we go by the word and not peoples lack of experience. There is also Spiritual warfare to consider. Many of these nations have been under the dominance of principalities and powers since the fall of Adam. And trust me they hate humans so keeping them impoverished is a joy for them. (Yes, God is still moving and doing a great thing despite the conditions that these people face, Romans 8:28)Another key point to consider is cultural context. In certain places the blessings of God will be abundant crops, supernatural cattle reproduction and so on. In others it will be great investment returns and a nice house or car. I recommended getting a tape series called transformations by George Otis. It chronicles cities and nations that have had spiritual awakenings that effected not only just the souls of men but the economic structures of the cities or nations involved. Lastly it is because of the abundant wealth of our country over the last three hundred years that has spurred the Gospel being preached through out the world. Once again my Prayer is for God to give me an pure and dedicated heart that will enjoy his blessings but at a drop of a dime give them up for the work of the Kingdom.

As long as their riches come from their own hard work and not the church members who are following them, I thinks it’s okay for them to ride to the moon if they want to. I can’t say whether or not these men or women of God are doing wrong or right because I do not know them now or before they became ministers. The only thing I will say is I hope they are indeed living right and doing the work of God for God’s people, because people take their religion serious and when you decide to become a member of a church and tithe and serve in the church it is a serious thing and the preachers and fellow members should respect that this is not a game to you. I know there are Ministers who have given that calling a really bad rep, but like my father says who is a preacher himself “he can find someone better to play with other than God.” So, there is no point in really judging these preachers or trying to find out if they are or are not living right, because we don’t have a heaven or hell to put them in and in the end they will pay for it if they are indeed doing crazy things. God can bring more hell in one day then we could in an entire lifetime. So, this is something simply to be left in the hands of God.

what the public must understand about a mega church is that most of the congregation usually is not just barely making it financially.secondly these churches supply so many different programs to there surrounding community and these mega churches also have connections with many businesses and organizations that do so much charity work over seas in countries that the average individual wouldn’t think about touching.besides the bible does’t speak of living lavish as a sin it’s all about understanding how to properly handle the churches finances.lastly i say to everyone before u judge the church and its’ leaders in any way read your bible first and also faith is not about race or culture but it disturbs me that all these leaders being investigated is black!!!!!!!

I think heaven is going to be mega just like the mega church I attend. God has no desire for us to be poor. People who have never been to a mega church think they know everything about a church. At New Birth in Atlanta Ga Bishop Long has programs to help you get out of debt, purchase a home and etc. If you dwell with people who want more…. then you will want more too. I’m happy they have because I’m striving to have as well. Is it okay for the rappers and actors to have but not our spirtual leaders. When I tithe I tithe to the kingdom not to the church and thats how we should look at it. I give God 10% because thats what I am suppose to do. We assume the church runs on air, but the church has bills too. As soon as the ac stops working or the heat break down we want it fix. There are mortgages on these mega churches hello money is not fallen from the sky. I go to a mega church in Atlanta and a smaller church in Macon. I go to both for the same thing to praise God not man. So lets stop worrying about peoples personal business. We want the pastor or bishop to be available all day 24/7 however we want him to be homeless and not drive a car. If you drive and live nice how come the man or woman taking us higher can’t have anything.

WOW…there is so much passion and animation. Being married to a Preacher, I see things a little differently. I can’t speak on all Pastors and Ministers, but…I can say that my husband spends MANY nights(hour upon hours) studying and preparing to teach the men & women of God..he has plenty of sleepness nights trying to prepare to feed the Word of God to saints…praying for the saints, counseling saints, writing letters to judges on behalf of saints, visiting the sick, encouraging those who lost loved ones, etc.

I’m saying that to say…Pastors & Ministers job’s go beyond preaching in the pulpit. Their called on for wedding ceremonies, funerals, hospitals, court rooms, counseling, prayers, etc.

We can’t judge these mega-Pastors for living what we think is a lavish lifestyle. They’re responsible for SOULS, for heavensake.

Besides…as Christians we know that we give not to the”man”, but we give out of obedience and reverance of God. Now.. what the church &/or Pastor does with our tithes or offering…only God knows.

I am not judging anyone. I read the word of God and I have knowlege about the principles. My only problem is that pastors need to pay taxes. Their incomes should be taxed. As a taxpayer, I find it disturbing that their income is not taxable. It is real easy to pay 10%, when you actually get to see the 90%. A regular person pays about 35% of their income to the government every year, plus 10% (if they are a faithful tither). I don’t think it is right and I think it is unfair for working class people to live paycheck to paycheck, while pastors live extravagant lifestyles. What kills me is when the pastor gets mad because a member needs assistance. Or tells the congregation how the church is not there to meet and supply every need. I think if you see a need and your are a pastor, then if you are able to meet it you should. It is not about what you have. You should treat people the way that you want God to treat you. I question the heart of a pastor if I do not see them helping memebers who are less forunate. Quit asking members to assist people in the church and be a role model. You are suppose to be the head of your body.

There is nothing wrong with reaping the harvest of those obedient to God. My father is rich in houses and land and so i am his child and therefore shall inheret what my Father in heaven owns which is everything. The bible states, “Touch not my anoiting and do my prophet no harm”, we will all be judged one day. As for shephards of the flock who bring forth the word of God, they are human to thats why you dont worry about what PEOPLE are doing, you seed, tithe and give offering in obedience to GOD not to man. And if it is being handled in the wrong way, trust me, God’s got it. We worry about the wrong things

If the idea is to live your life like Jesus then their doing a horrible job. Jesus was a man of the cloth. If he wanted to be rich and have the luxuries of this world he could have but he wanted to be the poorest person in the world. It’s like people forget you can’t serve two masters this world and the hereafter

I dont see a problem with it they work just as hard as the next human, trust me i know my dad is a pastor and all he does is help the people at our church as well as people he meets on the street. people arent broke because they want to be they’re broke b/c of lack of financial control. thats what my problem was now im blessed to do what i want with my money. i feel like why hate b/c of what they have why dont you strive to get where they are.

nothing wrong with the man or woman of God to have the fruits of their labor.the houses ,cars,airplanes are all blessings from their labor.no weapon formed against them shall prosper,can i get an amen.

There’s nothing wrong with having nice things BUT I do have a problem with church leaders who live their lives lavishly while significant amount of their members and members of surrounding neighborhoods living without the basics….looks like GREED to me.

Personally, Church is not a place for a fashion show. I believe we all should leave the fancy cars, clothes & accessories at home….It is distracting. As Christians, we enter the house of the Lord to honor HIM. PERIOD!

One more thing….BLESSINGS DOES NOT EQUAL BEING RICH!!!! Not everyone God blessed in the Bible were rich!!!! Yet, some ministries preach financial prosperity more than anything else! Hmmmmm!!!! What went wrong there!!!!

When that GREAT DAY comes, the poor will be first and the rich will be last.

In the word it does not say that what is meant by that is if you are rich in his word and spirit than you shall inherit his kingdom. Not your moneitry wealth your spiritual wealth. God wants his servants to be blessed. And none of us weather a preacher or a lay memeber shall enter unless you have the Holyghost. He wants us to be happy. For HIS WORD SAYS BELOVED I WISH ABOVE ALL THINGS THAT YE MAYEST PROSPER AND BE IN GOOD HEALTH EVEn AS Your SOUL PROSPERTH!!!!!! READ YOUR BIBLES AND TRULLY KNOW THE MEANING BEFORE YOU COMMENT. It is amazing how many different positions people can take on issues. And how cruel we can be to each other over them.

Jesus taught in St. Matthews that praying to be heard or doing things to be seen was the only reward due to those seeking such.

If these preachers are preaching and teaching for the money, its sad. When Judgement Day comes, God will owe them nothing, they will already have their reward.

It would be really sad that after preaching to others they themselves should end up as cast aways.

It seems that many of the comments being made here are from people that consider themselves to some degree christians.

May I suggest we season our words with a little grace for the benefit of those viewing this site that have not come into the knowledge of God which could be hindered by ugly attitudes being expressed here?

Some of the comments here sound like they are coming from people that are down right ignorant. Not on the subject they are commenting on but in the way they are expressing them.

Jesus taught that a tree is known by the fruit it bares. This applies to the preachers being talked about and the people doing the talking as well.

I agree that ministers are blessed and nothing is wrong with blessings - financial blessings included. But some of these ‘ministers’ have no formal theology training and have not been convicted by the Holy Spirit to lead a congregation. No, they just decided one day to open a church - to them the church is a money-making entity… and that’s what a number of these multi-millionnaire ‘ministers’ have done. The church is nothing but a business to them.

First Let me say this. Why is it that when a man of God is blessed with things why is it a problem. I believe if they are giving, living right before God and there heart is right why is it a problem. I do believe that some are jealous(THAT SENT NEGATIVE E-MAILS ON PASTORS). Doctors have money, Lawyers have money, Jay Z has money, P Diddy has money, but when a man of God has money it becomes a problem If we read our word there were men of God in the word that had much money(livestock). What is the problem my brothers and sisters. See what alot of people don’t know and I do, because I am and have been around great men of God. Do some of you not know that some have given cars, money paid rent, help thousands of people out of there own money. Please saints(the ones that are saved)don’t get caught up on the negative about men that the Lord is using and blessing. I think that is so ignorant. I had an honor to visit a church in another state and to see what they are doing to help people. For all the ones that are negative about God Blessing them and they are blessing others. My question to you is WHAT ARE YOU DOING. ARE YOU FEEDING HOMELESS, HELPING PEOPLE?????? IF NOT PLEASE SHUT IT UP!!!

It’s a World Calling…these people were never called to the church…they are called to the World…for God so loved the World…that He gave His only Begotten Son…the Call has a Map…a Map unto Everlasting Life…It’s what God does…It is Ministry…It holds the weight, “Understanding”, is on the same scale as wisdom. Therefore get Wisdom; and with all thy getting, get Understanding. Proverbs 4:7. In all that I can have I’d rather have understanding because understanding is as powerful as wisdom. The world has placed under scrutiny; a microscope, the men and women of God. Yet, they are following the script..those who prosper in His footsteps; in their journey for Christ. It is saying…how are they able to have what they have?… doing what they do?…It is that they have taken the peoples money and lavished it upon themselves; using it for their own selfish gain…we are going to investigate them and prove that this is how they are doing it. We are going to examine their earnings and profits and we will prove they have wrongfully profited from the people. This only makes sense to the world…yet, it is not so. They are simply following the script…men and women of God, Amen. You may say the Word of God is not a script. It is the Word; out of the mouth of God. The Word is script-ure..it is a Map unto Everlasting Life. What they are experiencing before the world is what God does when you follow it…when you live it. These are The Eddie Long’s..the Paula White’s..the Joyce Meyer’s..the Creflo Dollar’s etc, in the world. And the thing about it is…this prosperity is available to any man who will hearken unto God, that will live for Him…that will give Him to the World in truth…This is the Gospel. I had heard an entertainer, entreprenuer, producer and song writer…bro Jermaine Dupri say once…quote,If you chase it for the Love, you’ll see the money sitting right beside you when you least expect it. unquote.. And you ain’t seen nothing yet! Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. I Corinthians 2:9. :For as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,..and laid them down at the Apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. I seriously dont underdstabd why these men of God are being investigated. God promised us all, he also granted us the abilities to seek his riches in glory!! It’s funny how our society supports artists, athletes, tv stars with their bentley’s, private jets, and million dollar mansions…..and when a man or woman of God does it it has to be justified. Realisticly none of these people would have these wordly possesions without God so what’s the big deal. The enemy is busy we have to stay prayed up in 08′ yall!
