Well I heard the 1st book on my IPod, which is narrated by Karrine Steffans and I in some sense I understand why she claims she wrote the 1st book and that is to help other young ladies out there who may want to be video models. However, I’m not understanding the need for book #2, other than the need for money and to continue to stay in the limelight.

She mentions in the book at one point her the nanny primarily raised her son, because she was never around,too busy getting her freak on and getting high. What I don’t understand is when she is questioned about the things she wrote, she gets upset, and she can’t deal with “ignorant black folks” Ms. Steffans, then you can’t deal with yourself. Ignorance got her to where she is now in life. She made a lot bad mistakes and she wrote about them and went on a nationwide tour promoting the book and Superhead. So Ms. Steffans has to be prepared to deal with the questions and backlash that she will receive from others. I’m no saint and I have maded several stupid mistakes in my lifetime, but I’m not writing a book about it for all to see and read. So if you don’t want people to talk about don’t do it in the first palce and definitely don’t write about it.

I read both books and the second one left me very sad. This woman thinks she has been healed from her past and I felt she ended up worse than before. She has learned nothing. She measures success by how much money she has made and how she is invited to select parties and events that only the “Who’s Who” can get into. That has never been a deciding factor in anyone’s greatness. She has no relationship with God and had no regard for her son until later on in the game, so I agree with the first person who made that observation. Judging those who are not part of the Church

We must discard this unbiblical axiom from our beliefs and practices and instead become familiar with God’s Word so that we can judge as God expects us to.

Christians are to judge both people as well as behaviors and beliefs with the only following exceptions:

1. We are not to be angry without cause.
2. We are not to judge one another for whether or not we continue to practice christian principals.
3. We are not to place final judgment on someone - in terms of salvation or damnation/condemnation.
4. We are not to judge who will be rewarded with a greater position in the kingdom of God.
5. We are not to judge those outside the church, except to judge them as outside the church.
6. We are not to judge hastily, improperly, or presumptuously, and without first examining ourselves.
7. We are not to judge according to appearance, but according to God’s standard of righteousness.

I have made sure I did neither of these things, I am looking at her actions, and irresponsible choices, and lessons she is teaching our young people, not to mention her son. Christian or no Christian, right is right and wrong is wrong. When you know better you would do better.

ALL six of my classes whom I shared this exercise with, had the same reactions. A couple of students parents, made them take the book back to the store to get a refund. I even assigned a one page paper assignment expressing their views of the book. BOY was I shock at the honest expressions. It all came down to this,until she gets her life together, we as young people can’t trust her or respect her. because it makes you wonder, if we shared our secrets with her, will she go blast our business in another book, just because people want to here it, or she is in the business to make money, no matter what she has to do, to get it.

These are the thoughts of high school students. Now that amazed!

I disagree. The environment in which she was raised created this beast. The “rap game” just made it easy for her to continue this trend.

Until you have walked in Ms. Steffan’s shoes, no one can judge her. I read her book and she is a talented writer, a more talented writer than some on this blog. She can hitch a grammatically correct sentence together unlike some. She is also a troubled young woman who was raped at an early age, physically and mentally abused by her ex-husband and had a terrible relationship with her mother, her lifesource and key to knowledge. If you were brought up in a home where the correct knowledge was given to you at an early age, you are blessed because most young adults from the ‘hood do not. Do I agree with her actions? No, I do not. But we live in a society that tells young Black women that the only thing they have of value is their body and we tell our daughters to find a man with some money to take care of them. Don’t mess with a broke ass %#?*@ and that type of thing. A young woman with no family values and little self esteem can be easily drawn into the kind of lifestyle that Ms. Steffan found herself in. And I am not surprised by some the negative things most people are saying about this young woman. Until men and women understand the ways we participate in our own oppression (sexism, racism, classim) and find a way to end it, more Karrins will be created.

I heard this hot mess on the radion on 102 JAMX coming out of YOungstown, Ohio and when the commentator referred to her as SUperhead she had the nerve to snap and hang up on him. Cmon now, if you wanna portray yourself as some kind of loose bimbo than you open yourself to all kind of disrespect. NObody aint going to respect her anymore. She might as well leave the country because everybody know what type of trash she is. I feel so bad for her son and the unwanted scrutiny she opened up for him. Did she noth think him before she went writing this book that it would cause him to be made fun of? She just thought of herself which in this case she is a horrible example of a mother and whoever this kid belongs to need to be getting him up off this crazy chick. Not because she went and slept wih everybody in the industry but because she put her business out there for all to know and she straight disrespected that child. SHe need to go and bury her head under a rock and stay there. FOr all those people who say that this is okay on what she did need a head check.

THEY WANTED TO KNOW WHY SHE WAS OFFENDED ABOUT BEING CALLED “SUPERHEAD.” SHE GAVE HERSELF THAT NAME. THAT MAKES THE SECOND ON AIR INTERVIEW THAT SHE HAD A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN HERSELF AND SHE COULDN’T HANDLE IT. I THINK SHE NEEDS SOME EXTENSIVE COUNSELING. HER SELF ESTEEM IS VERY, VERY, VERY LOW. I JUST DO NOT WANT SOCIETY TO GET THE IMPRESSION THAT THIS IS WHAT BLACK WOMEN DO WHEN THEY ARE SINGLE PARENTS. I WAS A SINGLE MOTHER ALSO AND I HAVE ALWAYS WORKED 2 LEGITIMATE JOBS TO DO WHAT I HAD TO DO FOR MY CHILDREN. I CAN HOLD MY HEAD UP HIGH.

Why would anyone even think about giving thereselves a name like “SUPERHEAD”?? That’s SUPERDUMB!!

Well it seems like all of you are getting fired up and putting to much energy into this woman. Do yall really think Karrin gives a damn about how you all feel about her? No, because she is still getting paid regardless and yall wasting yall time on the internet writing about her…and for SDS, now you know you copied and pasted those scriptures and you need to breathe easy because you are getting a little too upset about this topic. I personally don’t think Karrin’s action will influence anyone to be like her because people are going to do what they want to regardless. I read the book and it did not make me want to move to Atlanta and do every man in the industry to get a dollar. I feel sorry for her, she has issues.

Have any of you on this blog heard about the young black, mentally retarded woman from Virginia who was kidnapped by six Whites, including two women, who beat and raped her? Probably not because you ignorant, uneducated individuals are more concerned about who Karrine is currently f**king and s**king and instead of real issues: institutionalized racism, poverty and and an unequal justice system. It is too much going on in the Black community to be concerned with this bullshit.

“If you’re going to be a whore get paid,” that’s was said in one of the comments. That’s all fine and dandy if be a paid whore is your profession. However, you cannot proclaim yourself as an example for young black women, or a proud single black woman. This girl is a ricidious mess that needs to be shutdown everytime exposure comes her way. I am glad the personalities made an ass of her, because she is an ass. Calling that slut “superhead” is being quite nice in my opinion. I believe you only should judge people by what they give you to judge. I have seen no sincere qualities come from her, so judge her as the gold-digging haggler that she is.

This chick is in some major denial. I want to know why she can’t just own up to her own actions? Whether she likes it or not, she will always be known as “Superhead” and that is the image she has promoted/got paid for all these years. Someone needs to give this girl a wake up call. If she is going to write a tell-all book about her life, she could at least be honest about what exactly it is she does or did for a living. She is a very selfish person for putting her son through this, I hope she has made enough money for some therapy.

Superhead needs a reality check. I feel bad about her son and maybe my previous conmment was insensistive to the child but I meant no harm. For instance Pamela Anderson with all her adult movies and flamboyant over the top clothing, her 2 little boys weren’t troubled by her profession or the way she carries herself… to them that made their mother sexy/cool. I personally know nothing of this woman and only came to hear about her from this blog. I’ve never watched anyone of her sex tapes nor have I read any of her books and I don’t ever intend to. Now for all you people condemming her, why bother reading her tell all sexposse books or watching her sex tapes, if that’s not contracdicting one’s self then I don’t know what is. I read her first book and ok she had a bad life, but it seems she is not giving her son a good life at all bouncing him around from people to people and not giving him the love he needs so she can be a ~%$$ sucker. Why would you want the world to know you as Superhead. Why would any man want this woman. I have no hate if this is what she wants to do to get paid than ok.
