Check out Queen Latifah on her BMW bike in Hollywood on Wednesday. I guess she won’t ride it to Miami, where she’ll perform at a $500-a-plate charity dinner for Alonzo Mourning’s and Dwyane Wade’s annual Zo’s Summer Groove.

The event, taking place July 9-13, is one of the hottest in Miami every year. Chris Tucker, Doug E. Fresh, DL Hughley, Gabrielle Union and a slew of athletes including LeBron James and Chris Paul will be on the scene. And the gold diggers too, I imagine.

About all those rumors of gorgeous Gabrielle Union dating ballers and other stars, she tells the New York Post’s Page Six magazine that they simply are not true. But her mother certainly believed them. Moms was even ready to welcome Yankees star Derek Jeter to her home for Easter dinner.

“I said, ‘Mom, how many times have I told you that I would love to say I’m having an amazing relationship with Mr. Jeter, but it’s just not true?’ ” Gabrielle, who is a friend of Derek’s, was quoted as saying.

There were other associations, including Kid Rock. “The poor thing just sat next to me at a dinner on his birthday and the next thing you know, we’re supposedly having this love affair,” the starlet said. “I’d rather they circle my cellulite than say I’m hooking up with someone I’m not. I haven’t had a serious relationship in two years, but to read these blogs and gossip columns, you’d think I have a very illustrious dating history. I think it’s scaring off regular guys because they believe they can’t compete with a World Series winner or a rock star. I just want to tell them there’s nothing to compete with.”

Hmmm. There were plenty of people willing to believe that Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade was ready to dump his wife Siovaughn for Gaby. But that’s what happens when you marry one baller (Gabrielle and former NFL player Chris Howard divorced in 2006) and are constantly on the scene at sporting events. Of course she could just be a big sports fan. And no doubt she does her part for charity, supporting events such as the Grand Gala, which takes place annually at the Kentucky Derby (Dwade went this year too) and Zo’s Summer Groove, Alonzo Mourning’s five-day charity event going on now through Sunday in Miami. Dwade is hosting this year. Oh, there’s that name again.
