Has it been that many years since I paid attention to R&B singer Angie Stone? I know she changed her image during the promotion of her last album, rocking long straight hair and sleek threads in contrast to her Afro and bohemian threads during albums of the past, but what’s going on here? She seems to be trying to sex up her look (her boobs look like they’re about to jump out of that corset and smack her in the face!).

Tina Knowles is pushing out another collection from her line “Miss Tina” which features contemporary dresses, shoes and accessories. Beyonce’s mama presented the collection yesterday on HSN, where it’s available for purchase. The line promises to offer “a taste of couture” and help it’s wearers “transition perfectly from fall to holiday.” She lost me with back in 1998 when she was creating Destiny’s Child’s matchy-matchy dresses and costumes but good for her!

Dwight Packing Heat

Did you see the second part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion last night?  I was anticipating less fireworks than last year, especially since I had a feeling that Andy Cohen would ask Kandi about her late fiance AJ’s death –  then, “fifth housewife” Dwight Eubanks came on the stage complaining that he felt like he’d “been in church all day” because of the lack drama. Be careful what you wish for!  The tables quickly turned to Dwight when Kim Zolciak outed him for getting a penile implant.  Surprisingly, Dwight owned up to and even owned it! Think his fiance is happier?

In whoring for publicity news, two of my favorite housewives – NeNe Leakes of Atlanta and Gretchen Rossi of Orange County – pretended to be ladies who lick while out for lunch.

Judging from the positions of NeNe’s hands and Gretchen’s posture, I think this “kiss” was really just NeNe whispering to Gretchen, “Girl, I’m hoping this sells some books.”

I blame Madonna and Britney Spears for this. Now everyone thinks they can be gay for 45 seconds and get some attention for it.

In other NeNe news, she told Radar Online that she and Kim Zolciak will never be friends.

Yet I’m pretty sure she’ll be friendly with her on camera as humanly possible while the ratings for The Real Housewives of Atlanta continue to soar.

It’s a tight rope between friendship and keeping your lights on.

Late last week word got out of a “Twitter beef” between BET’s own Neffe and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak.

The beef started over “TheRealNeffe” on Twitter posting Zolciak’s phone number for the entire twitterverse to see. Zolciak’s claims that after her number was posted on Twitter she became bombarded with thousands of phone calls.

She then proceeded to curse “TheRealNeffe” out – calling her a “BET B—ch.”

What is a “BET B—ch” supposed to mean? Kim, it’s a tight rope between you and the black community. Watch your mouth.

Not to mention, have your facts in order, because apparently, Neffe isn’t even on Twitter. Keyshia Cole’s sister wrote on Global Grind:

“It was a rude awakening to start my day receiving phone calls about some so-called ‘twitter beef’ I have going on with one of the Atlanta Housewives and one that I don’t even really know.  First of all, this twitter account circulating with my name is NOT ME.  I don’t even really twitter and I especially wouldn’t spend energy to post anyone’s personal information on a world-wide forum, for what?  That serves no purpose to me.  Secondly, I am raising a family and have too many daily responsibilities that take up too much of my valuable time t o be involving myself in some petty, childish foolishness.

And please know that I must be growing and changing because even though I am mad as hell that someone feels the need to misrepresent me in the most unnecessary way, I refuse to get involved in a catty battle with someone that I don’t even know.  So to the haters, sorry to disappoint if you were expecting me to revert back to behaviors of the past, but I have too much joy in my life to have it be compromised by a false rumor.  And with that said, I look forward to really getting deep into this blog and sharing experiences and asking you guys questions that will hopefully move us all in a more positive direction.”

Nice to know Neffe is making a real effort to mature.

Remember that “well written” blog post we told you about that  Tameka Foster wrote about the plights of being dark skinned? Well BV Buzz reports that blog post may have been plagiarized! According to the article author Aisha Curry, who wrote the book ‘Pretty For a Black Girl’  read the piece and had the sinking feeling that she had seen it before…because she wrote it. “Why did I feel so connected to this article? Suddenly, it came to me. It was my work! It was my work, my voice, but in her words,” Curry said. “The only difference between her article and my book is she used ‘dark-skinned’ and I used ‘Black.’”

Curry’s 96-page pocket-size book, which was self-published in March 2008, though Tameka’s reps deny she ever saw the book before writing the article. I guess the topic at hand is one that many women of color have struggled with, so it’s not like Tameka couldn’t have come up with the topic on her own, but after some of the letters I’ve seen that Tameka has written bloggers in the past, I was a little surprised at her poise with the pen in that blog. I’mjustsayin.

Wigging Out

Did you see the Real Housewives of Atlanta last night?  Luckily no one tried to pull Kim Zolciak’s hair out, but on the internet this morning for some reason, people were still wondering if those shiny blond locks are real. If there was any confusion Kim’s hair is a wig! Not only did she reveal this on the season one reunion, she keeps addressing it in interviews and supposedly even has a wig line that’s coming out soon.  Last night Kim appeared on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live and some un-aired footage hit Bravo.com where the two extensively talked about Kim’s extensions.  “So literally it’s woven in?” Cohen asks.  “No I just put it on honey!”  Kim said of her wig.  She did admit that there’s several pictures out there of her at the beach with her real hair and she said “my natural color is black” (surprise, surprise).  Not sure why everyone is so fascinated by Kim’s hair piece, it’s not like everyone else on that show hasn’t dabbled in some Yakki (I mean even Kandi had a piece glued in the front of her short bump and curl before the photo shoot on yesterday’s episode!).  Let the girl have her Barbie weave.

Kelis still can’t keep her hands out of Nas’ pockets! It wasn’t enough for her to receive a nearly $55,000 child and spousal support settlement after her divorce, according to TMZ, Kelis’ lawyer Laura Wasser has filed documents requesting that Nas pay $281,571 in retroactive spousal support and $29, 522 in retroactive child support. But, that’s not all: because Nas makes over $244k per month, Wasser believes Kelis is entitled to $72, 728 in spousal support and in the future, $17,225 a month in child support. Ok now I am saying she’s a gold digger! Kelis is really trying to take a brother for all he has! There’s no way baby Knight Jones needs all that money, though note to self: put Laura Wasser’s name in my rolodex for the future….just in case!

Naomi Campbell took a walk on the wild side in Harper’s Bazaar‘s September issue.  In a spread photographed by Jean-Paul Goude, titled “Wild Things,” the supermodel was snapped running with a cheetah, jumping rope with monkeys, and riding a crocodile and elephant.  Naomi always brings it, but some are calling the high-fashion spread racist. Last night was another episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and it was filled with “dramer” (thanks for that new word Dwight!)! Sheree couldn’t pull off Kim Zolciak’s wig on the show, but Dallas Austin sure did pull the blonde’s card off-screen!  Austin who is the producer that entertained Kim’s no-singing self as she howled off-key like a sickly cat in the studio (and that’s as nice as I can be) in Season One had some words about the “housewife” on Twitter last night:

Dallas: Don’t ever put that house wives b*tch in serious music convo please !!! It’s unfair to real talent people it was only for broken dreams tv!!

Dallas: High priced hookers on a TV show for screwing married men… and getting Kandi to sing for u ain’t gonna work either.

Ouch!  I guess this means he won’t be working on the “Tardy for the Party” remix?

Meanwhile, if you think Reggie Bush is fine, you might be able to see him in the buff soon. Supposedly the NFL running back is following the footsteps of his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian and has a sex tape.  His bedroom co-star isn’t Kim though, apparently it’s Miami based stripper model Carmen Ortega.  Carmen did a radio interview with Hot 97 and claimed that she made a sex tape with Reggie and that she might release it (if this is all true I’m sure she’s just waiting for the highest bidder).   The escort model is also embracing the role as home wrecker and saying that she was creeping with Reggie for 3 months while he was with Kim and that’s the reason why the two broke up.  This story looks like it might get ugly! When will celebs learn to keep their freaky episodes off camera!? Or at least snag the copy of the tape once the camera stops rolling so there’s no evidence.

The drama is already heating up on the second season Real Housewife of Atlanta but off screen there may be much more to the story than it seems.  Kim Zolciak is saying NeNe Leakes choked her not once, but twice during their now infamous confrontation. Kim alleges that right before taping a scene for the show in April, her and NeNe got into a huge argument and NeNe began to strangle her. 

Kim claims she was choked so hard that she lost her breath and couldn’t sleep for weeks. She filed a police report against NeNe back  when the argument happened, but said she wasn’t planning on talking to press about the ordeal until now.  Apparently she now feels like she has to speak on it because NeNe is claiming it never happened (let the cameras tell it).  Kim is back in talks with her lawyers and considering pressing charges.  Now NeNe does look like she might reach for someone but Kim has done her share of conniving on the show so it’s hard to know who to believe.  All I know it’s going to be a long season in Atlanta! These grown women are crazy!

We’ll end the week on a brighter note:  

 Golden Brooks was spotted at A Pea in the Pod launch party for the Nicole Richie maternity collection in Beverly Hills (Side Note: I can’t help but think that if they actually continued taping Girlfriends, Golden’s pregnancy might’ve given them a good excuse to create a story line where her character ”Maya” finally got the baby that she and “Darnell” were trying for. No, I still can’t get over the fact that the show got cancelled without a finale!). Brooks is pregnant with her first child with her boyfriend D.B. Woodside who is largely known for his role in the drama 24 as the President’s brother.  The couple is expecting in September. How sweet!

In other baby news:  OK! magazine ran exclusive photos of Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou’s first child together, Kenzo Lee.  “I never thought it could be this good,” the Baby Phat CEO told the magazine.  Click here  to see pictures of the little bundle of joy. He’s a cutie!
