Ever since Mary J. Blige married Kendu Isaacs some have wondered when the Queen was going to settle down and have some babies – either naturally or by adopting.

But with a new album to promote, fly commercials to shoot, and a burgeoning film career Mary says she can’t adopt because she’s tooo busy.

While Mary admits being inspired by women like Madonna and Angelina Jolie who have taken impoverished children into their home, she feels she’s too busy right now and that would make her a “poor parent.”

Speaking at the New Yorkers For Children Fall Gala in Manhattan this week, when asked about adopting Mary said:

“I don’t think I’ll do foster care or adopt, to be quite honest. I barely have time for my own children. To adopt more children and not have time for them, that (would be) poor parenting on my (part).”

Good. That means we’ll have less children with mommy and daddy issues. She’ll raise the step-kids she has. Don’t be mad. And if you are (what’s wrong with you, but I digress) Mary says she will, however, dedicate her time volunteering to help underprivileged children.

There are times when I randomly burst into song and start singing the likes, “You told me a thousand times/That you would be mine, all mine,” for absolutely no reason at all.

Sometimes other people on the street join in, while others grab their purses and walk swiftly past me.

If you’re an old Mary J. Blige fan then you know there’s nothing like “I Don’t Want To Do Anything” – the Queen’s classic duet with ex-boyfriend, K-Ci Haley (ooh yeah) of Jodeci.

But, you also know that K-Ci was the Chris Brown of the 90s, which means Mary isn’t too fond of him. While the two did go on to collaborate once again at the close of the last decade, what are the chances of Mary performing her classic hit with one of the skinniest men alive.

Mary J. Blige: If I wasn’t signed to MCA, it could have been me, which I believe Puff would have wanted. But I understand Puff is a businessman, so he had to go get his First Lady, which I understand. It took me a couple of years to understand, but you know, after a while I was like, “Oh, okay. He had to do that,” because he didn’t have a female artist over there.

Oh and if you’re wondering if Aunt Mary is trying to compete with the youngins, she said:

“I don’t compete with the young generation, I learn from them. I listen to what they’re saying, so I can get a little bit of that, so we can cross, so we can have an understanding and hear each other.”

Oh Chrihanna, please give us a break!

Chris Brown and Rihanna both turned up at last night’s NBA Finals, Game 4 causing more of a stir than the Lakers and Magic overtime match-up!  Though “sources” told Us Weekly magazine the pair was “coming together” and People magazine that “they requested to sit together” (seriously!?  Somebody’s publicist is working overtime to keep these kids in the news) the duo took to separate sections of the court.  Eyewitnesses say that the stars retreated into private lounges during half-time, but do we really believe that they had a reunion?  For goodness sake, RiRi was just subpoenaed on Tuesday to testify against Chris in the  preliminary hearing in his assault case!  If they get back together after all this drama, I’m officially dropping the mic and walking off the stage.

In other news, First Lady Michelle Obama caused a stir of fashion commentary when her press secretary Semonti Mustaphi declared, “Mrs. Obama does not wear fur” one day after French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy told the PETA that she no longer wears real fur.  I still think it’s funny that, with all the world issues of the day, Lady O causes such reaction with what she does or doesn’t wear, but at least she can rest easy that the PETA isn’t coming at her with red paint! Those folks can jump crazy and they are not scared! They’ve started beef with Aretha Franklin, among other people, and even got Mary J. Blige ready to go to war but Lady O’s in their good book: “We’ve never written to Michelle Obama about this issue because we have always known her to be fur-free,” said Amanda Schinke, media campaigns coordinator for PETA.  That’s cool, but I think our First Lady should be able to make her fashion choices without someone always having something to say!

Meanwhile, Prince refuses to get hip surgery because of his faith. Due to his practice as a Jehovah’s Witness, the Purple One is allegedly refusing a blood transfusion that will make a much needed double hip replacement possible.  These hip problems were first reported in 2005, then again in 2007 and in 2008 reports came that he’d finally agreed to “secret surgery.” That might explain the diamond cane I saw him with at the Apollo Theater’s 75th Anniversary Gala, but I can’t fathom why he’d need to suffer like this for his religion. Next time the Jehovah’s Witnesses come knocking at my door, I’ll have to ask them what’s up with that.

Some of the biggest names in music will be in Washington D.C. as part of Barack Obama’s inauguration.

Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige and will.i.am are amongst a diverse lineup of musicians who will perform at Obama’s Jan. 18 Welcome Concert on the National Mall. Bono, Josh Groban, Garth Brooks, John Mellencamp and Shakira are also apart of the concert.

Queen Latifah, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx and Martin Luther King III will read historic passages at the free concert, which also will be televised on HBO starting at 2 p.m. ET.

Mary J. Blige and Robin Thicke are coming to Atlanta over the weekend. Though involved parties won’t blame the pissy economy outright, it’s safe to say show promoter Live Nation hasn’t been terribly thrilled with ticket sales. Things got so rough this morning it was selling seats in portions of Lakewood Amphitheatre for 50% off the original costs. No word yet on if the one-day clearance sale was a success or not. All we really know is that if MJB is having trouble filling arenas, heaven help everybody else out there on their music grind.

The court filing claims the New York-based firm never gave Blige, Feemster or Geffen
Records, the distributor, rights to use the song.

“Mr. Feemster created the music while he was under contract with Dream Family.
Dream Family then owned the music, yet the music was used without permission in
a Mary J. Blige release recording,” said Dream lawyer Brian Caplan.

“It was released as an album, a single and in a commercial,” Caplan
said.

Rights to the lyrics of the song – which was featured with Blige in an iPod commercial
– are not in question.

Geffen Records, Feemster and representatives for Blige didn’t return calls.

Caplan said it was unclear if Blige knew the music belonged to someone other than
Feemster, and said the producer “had no rights to the music he used.”

Jay-Z requested a watermelon carved out in the shape of Beyonce’s breasts for display
in his $5,000 a night hotel suite in Nigeria, according to Britain’s href="http://www.mirror.co.uk">Daily Mirror, a newspaper famous for its
gossip.

The newspaper’s spy says, “One giant watermelon was split in two and ornately carved
into a mold of Beyonce’s boobs. Two cherries were used as nipples.”

Jigga performed at ThisDay’s Africa Rising concert in Abuja on Friday, along with
Usher, who needs to give his crotch-grabbing a break, Mary J. Blige and Rihanna.

If the watermelon story is true, don’t you think that’s better than
him hitting the streets trying to find someone with boobs like Bey?

It pays to shop where the celebs shop. Miss Mary J came to the rescue of some young girl who probably had no business shopping in a Diane von Furstenberg store last week.

Reports Page Six: “The girl had a dress on hold that she loved, and the bill was $900. She thought it was only $500, and she couldn’t afford it.” Blige told the saleswoman, “Go get the girl. I want to pay for the balance on the dress.” The customer at first declined Blige’s offer but relented after the singer said, “I know what it’s like to want something and not be able to have it. I insist.” The customer wanted to send her a check for the balance, but Blige said, “Just enjoy it. I’m blessed, so let me do this.”
