Get well wishes go out to the legendary Natalie Cole, who was diagnosed with Hepatitis C during a routine visit to her doctor. She’s responding well to treatment.

Doctors believe that Cole’s illness is likely the result of drug usage decades ago, which she documented her 2000 autobiography, Angel On My Shoulder.

“I’ve been so fortunate to have learned so much from my past experiences,” Cole said. “I am embraced by the love and support of my family and friends; I am committed to my belief in myself and in my abiding faith to meet this challenge with a heartfelt optimism and determination. This is how I intend to deal with this current challenge in my life.”

Just last month Cole appeared on Entertainment Tonight and gave a thumbs up to some weight loss device that shot electricity through her body after she strapped it around her stomach. Miraculously four inches disappeared.  As unfortunate as it is, the disease seems like a more logical reason behind any weight loss.

Look for her album Still Unforgettable to drop Sept. 9.

Here’s when celebrities get ridiculous trying to keep it slim. R&B legend Natalie Cole has reportedly lost up to 4 inches by shooting electricity through her body.

“The revolutionary device, which comes as a band wrapped around the stomach area, sends small electrical currents through the body. Sessions cost as much as $200, but Cole, who endorsed the weight loss system on Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday insists, “It’s worth it.”
