When Cheats Meet Cameras

Can’t say that I’ve ever been married, but from what I’ve learned from all of the divorced couples I’ve seen I know a married man’s head in the breasts of a woman not his wife is probably not the key to martial bliss.

Those pesky paps caught the very much married Snoop Dogg out in St. Tropez having a ball (or a bra) over the weekend.

I think it’s pretty clear what this woman’s intentions are. Not that I can completely blame her considering Snoop’s all smiles.

Now if I were them I’d watch out for Shante Broadus’ shank and attorney.

I think Kelis has shown all of us that a divorcing a rapper can be just like winning the lottery.

Is This The End of the Hip-Hop Clothing Line?

I appreciate LL Cool J. I used to bop my head to “I Need Love” when I barely had teeth, and loved “Doin’ It” despite only being in 7th grade (don’t be like me, though, kids). Having said that, I can’t remember the last time I’ve played an LL Cool J song. Can you?

I thought so, which leads me to this question: If people don’t listen to LL Cool J like that anymore, why would anyone want to dress like him?

When I think of the words LL Cool J and fashion my only memory is of him with one pant legged rolled up. The last time that was hot was back when we used to call him Marion Hill.

That’s why I’m not surprised that Sears will discontinue LL’s line due to poor sales.

LL not the only one when a failing line either. A while back there were rumors that Snoop Dogg’s clothing line was suffering from fledging sales.

Andre 3000’s clothing line Benjamin Bixby was launched last year and has also reportedly had problems moving merchandise. Shocker that many people aren’t willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a sweater from a rapper in a recession.

T.I. has a line that he’s trying to push. So does Jeezy. So do the Clipse. Soulja Boy mentioned doing one. Bow Wow’s said to be trying another line, too.

But with so many lines outside of Sean John and Rocawear fledging, is it time for rappers to stop channeling their inner designer and find a new side hustle?

Is Hip-Hop Helping End Racism?

Published by Runteldat on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 12:00 pm.

A few months ago I went to Lil’ Wayne’s “I Am Music” tour. A friend of mind called me thinking she arrived at the wrong venue because she saw more white people in one place than she had ever seen in her life. I told her to be calm and informed her that in the 21st century pale faces and Weezy go hand-in-hand.

Does that mean hip-hop has changed the world? Jay-Z seems to thinks so.

On how hip-hop has improved race relations, the main who should give me a bailout said:

“It has changed America immensely.  Hip-hop has done more than any leader, politician, or anyone to improve race relations. Racism is taught in the home… and it’s very hard to teach racism to a teenager who idolizes, say, Snoop Dogg. It’s hard to say, ‘That guy is less than you.’ The kid is like, ‘I like that guy, he’s cool. How is he less than me?’ That’s why this generation is the least racist generation ever. You see it all the time. Go to any club. People are intermingling, hanging out, enjoying the same music.”

While I’m sure Dr. King and other Civil Rights activists are thrilled that Black and white people can now do the stanky legg together, some would say hip-hop has helped perpetuate some of the worst stereotypes about Black people — and that’s not really helping push equality, is it?

I get what Jay’s saying, although sometimes people overestimate rap’s influence. One day someone will say hip-hop cured cancer.

So looks like your boy Snoop Dogg has lost his religion — and gained a new one.

Or maybe he’s had it all the time? The rapper and reality TV G made the announcement during the Nation of Islam’s Saviour’s Day event in Chicago, which took place this past weekend.

He said that by signing up to the religion he was “doing what’s right and representing what’s right. I’m an advocate for peace, I’ve been in the peace movement ever since I’ve been making music”.

Although he only made his religious beliefs public at the event, the rapper suggested that he had been signed up for a while.

“I’m already in the Nation, that’s why I’m here,” he said.

Well peace be unto you, brotha.

Snoop: Make It Rain On ‘Em

Published by Carrie Blackshaw on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 6:00 pm.

Snoop Dogg is hoping for rain after his family and staff were among 26,000 people forced to evacuate their homes Sunday due to Southern California wildfires.

My family had to be evacuated. It’s right in the area of where I live in, so I’m just praying for everybody, hopefully rain, and that firefighters get it done trying to bring an end,” the rapper tells E! News.

The Grammy-nominated star was not home at the time his family had to clear out of his multimillion-dollar property in the Country Estates, an exclusive, gated hillside community in Diamond Bar, Calif. Snoop says his family is “cool” and are seeking shelter with other relatives.

As part of the “Triangle Complex” fire, the inferno has already scorched more than 10,000 acres and spans four counties: Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside.

Snoop is the latest celeb to have his home imperiled by a spate of hellacious wildfires in Southern California over the weekend. Oprah Winfrey and Rob Lowe’s houses managed to survive a blaze up the coast in Montecito, but neighbor and Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd wasn’t so lucky, his place was among the 100-plus area homes destroyed.
