Lalia Ali was a knockout at the 19th annual NAACP Theatre Awards in LA that celebrated the 100th year for the organization. NAACP Award Winner Loretta Devine hosted the event that honored Tony/Grammy award winner Audra McDonald for Trailblazer Award, Everybody Hates Chris actress Tichina Arnold for the Spirit Award and Castle actor Ruben Santiago-Hudson for Lifetime Achievement. Celebs arrived at DGA theater for the big night giving a mixed bag of styles on the red carpet.

Tichina Arnold posed in a midnight gown with daughter Alajah Kai and Debbie Allen who looked on the bright side in a lace shirt and flowing skirt.

Tatyana Ali was a golden girl in a lame dress with eyelet detail.

I’m not sure how many birds it took to make the bottom of Jennia Fredrique’s dress but she still looked lovely standing next to husband Brian McKnight.

Actress Camille Winbush kept it youthful in a polka dot bubble dress (I don’t love those sandals but it works).

Actress Kyla Pratt’s splashy print kept her black and white dress from being boring.
Who do you think had the best look?

The stars dazzled at the 36th annual Daytime Emmy Awards last night and there was plenty of action from some of our favorite TV celebs! Ugly Betty’s Vanessa Williams hosted the night and reminded viewers of her singing chops taking to the stage to preform song and dance numbers in between awards. One of the nights big winners was Tyra Banks who accepted the honor of “Best Informative Talk Show” for The Tyra Banks Show. This is her second year in a row getting this award (get it)! I admit, when Tyra first announced her talk show plans I wasn’t sure how it would work out but she’s doing well. What do we think? Is Tyra on her way to becoming the next Oprah?
Congrats are in order for The View team, with Joy Behar, Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Sherri Shepherd for “Best Talk Show Host.” Too bad none of them were actually at the Emmys to receive the award! In the past they’ve been beat out by the Ellen Degeneres Show and apparently weren’t expecting a win. Sherri, who co-hosted the Daytime Emmys last year, actually Tweeted right before the award was announced: “In hot Ft Lauderdale FL checking out the Daytime Emmys – maybe a win next year” and then updated shortly after the win “OHMYGOSH we won!” and then “The one time I decided not to go we win!” Side note: I keep seeing commercials for Sherri’s new show on Lifetime TV. Hope she finds success there too!
Kevin Clash the puppeteer/voice of Elmo accepted the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for Sesame Street. I’m obviously extremely late but I had no idea the voice of Elmo was an African-American man!
There was even more dazzle from the red carpet:

Wendy Williams put her girls on display in a mint floor length gown with pockets. Of course her look wouldn’t be complete without a Rapunzel lacefront but this is one of her better looks I’ve seen!
Tatyana Ali made a sparkling appearance in a curve-hugging metallic halter gown.
Remember “Little Ricky” from Family Matters? Well actor Bryton McClure is all grown up and acting on the Young & The Restless now. He was nominated for Best Young Actor.

Young & The Restless actresses Victoria Rowell and Tonya Lewis Lee who play sisters on the show each rocked the red carpet in attention grabbing looks.
What a night!

The premiere of “Hancock” was Monday night in Hollywood and Will Smith found time to make for the littles, like former “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” star Tatyana Ali.
Will and Ashley Banks, back together again.
Since “Fresh Prince,” Smith has gone on to become Hollywood’s biggest actor and, well, Ali has become the host of Blackvoices six-week entertainment show.
