When Kandi Burruss’ on again, off again fiance Ashley “AJ” Jewell died two weeks ago, reports attributed his death to a brawl outside of his Atlanta night club Body Tap, but now that the autopsy is in doctors say that may not have been the whole story.

Dr. Kelly Rose of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office told E! News that A.J. may have suffered from the blood disorder sickle-cell anemia. According to the medical examiner, the condition may have restricted A.J.’s oxygen supply and exacerbated his injuries. “Preliminary results are suggestive of [sickle-cell],” said Rose. “The altercation played a role in that, and his underlying disease process contributed to his overall demise,” Rose says.

Meanwhile Frederick Richardson, the man that A.J. fought with that fateful night, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and is currently being held in an Atlanta jail without bond. A court date has been scheduled for Oct. 20.

Baby Boy(s)

Lil’ Wayne recently confirmed in an interview with the BBC’s Tim Westwood that he and Nivea are expecting a son. This bundle of joy will be the rapper’s third son in a little over a year although this will be the 4th child for Wayne total. Let’s recap: Lauren London welcomed his second son last month,  last October his first son was born in  Cincinnati, and his only girl, Reginae, comes from ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Carter.  I wonder which baby mama’s son will be the cutest?

50 Clears The Air

There have been rumors for some time that 50 Cent and Ciara have a love thang going on and some even say he put a ring on it, but the rapper recently denied that any of that’s true. 50 Cent called into the Rickey Smiley Morning Show to talk about the new album and of course Rickey had to ask: “Are you engaged to Ciara?”

Fiddy responded “Nah I’m not engaged. That was the longest ongoing thing that they said that was never any confirmation to.“ Rickey then asked, “Are ya’ll still together” and Fiddy said “You are saying still like we was.”

Wellthere you have it, we can finally put that rumor to bed.

A round of applause goes to Reginae Carter’s mama, Toya, for her most recent photo shoot with celebrity photographer Robert Ector.

Clearly not affected by the recession, the co-star of BET’s highest rated original series skipped the photo booth at the mall and headed over to a real studio.

A “girl, you better run” alert went out to BET’s Toya Carter after a rumor surfaced that her man, Buffalo Bills star James Hardy, but down his ex-girlfriend and his son some years back.

Hardy has since come out to refute those claims, writing:

“I am shocked and disappointed by people’s efforts to destroy my character. I am a God-fearing man, and I would never place my hands on the mother of my child or my son. In fact, my son has been an inspiration to me and to my accomplishments and I hold deep respect for my former girlfriend for raising my son. As in many relationships, my ex-girlfriend and I had an argument that was blown out of proportion. My ex-girlfriend called the police and I was arrested. As a student athlete, I did not have the money to defend myself in a criminal trial; therefore, I agreed to take part in a six-month diversion program.

As a result, the charges were dismissed and at the hearing on June 13, 2007, my ex-girlfriend recanted her statements and testified that she phoned 911 in an effort to “get at” me for the problems we were having in the relationship at the time. During the time of the incident, our relationship was being affected due to my hectic athletic schedule. This incident took place three years ago when I was a college student at Indiana University.

Currently, I am a professional athlete who realizes that children look up to me and that I have a duty to conduct myself appropriately. As partners in parenting, my ex-girlfriend and I maintain an amicable relationship. I have moved on and am happy with my life. Despite the negative media coverage, I am striving to achieve my maximum potential in life and focus on my career.
