Remember last year’s ode to Blaxploitation flicks, Black Dynamite? It starred Michael Jai White, who played the title character. He was a tough crime fighting martial artist who was on a crusade against The Man. It was a comical film that poked fun of but also paid homage to all things that made the 70s b-movies become cult classics. In fact, it’s safe to say that Black Dynamite is a new cult classic and we haven’t seen the last of it. Creators Michael Jai White and Scott Sanders have expanded the franchise into a comic book and an animated series that will air on Adult Swim in 2011.

The Black Dynamite cartoon further chronicles the exploits of Black Dynamite and his crew. Executive produced by Carl Jones (The Boondocks, Freaknik: The Musical), the series features the voice talents of Michael Jai White, Tommy Davidson, Kym Whitley, Byron Minns, Clifton Powell and JB Smoove. Seems like it’s going to be exciting. What do you think?
