Let’s Not Make The Wire A Reality Show

They say life imitates art, so for all of you wannabe actors out there, try aiming for stints on Sesame Street. Every other show seems far too dangerous.
Jamie Hector, who played Marlo Stanfield on the cult-favorite The Wire, held a baby shower for his wife over the weekend. Unfortunately, there was a shooting outside of the building where the baby shower took place and resulted in the death of a 17-year-old.
The New York Daily News reports that while Hector’s wife and family were inside their Brooklyn party in East Flatbush when the gun fire erupted.
It seems the people poppin’ their guns on the block were on a mission.
The gunmen were so adamant about getting the job done that one of them actually followed his victim to the hospital and fired another shot at him to try and finish him off.
Cops found at least 46 shell casings in a half-block radius at E. 93rd St. and Avenue B.
Yikes. I’m sure Marlo would be proud; I would be ducking and running.
A police source told the Daily News, “What a gun battle. They have been watching too much TV.”

Okay…so this story is pretty much pointless. And I really don’t like the way he was made involved in what happened. People really need a life. Sad.
Was Jamie Hector one of the gunfighters- or a victim? Were Chris and Snoop involved? Any bats or golf clubs involved? If not, I don’t think he had any control over that particular street drama. Slow news day? Good!
First of all, how could you clowns associate the actor with something that happend outside of his house. I thought BET was supposed to uplift the black community, not perpetuate a cycle of stereotypical non-sense. I ask, like all other who proceeded me here, how was Jamie Hector involved? It seems to me that he is only guilty of choosing a faulty venue to celebrate what is meant to be a joyous ocassion in his young life, the birth of his new child. There was no evidence presented here that says he had any involvement in the events that took place. Its assumptions like these- that the young black male is automatically the culprit and to blame- that land so many of them in jail for crimes they may not have committed. I send prayers up for the family of the young victim for their loss and to the writers and researchers of this article for their apparnet ignorance. Good day.

What has this story have anything to do with The Wire and the actor. This is a waste of space and has no relevence at all. The media is basically responsible for the negative rep that Blacks get. Stop this kind of reporting and give us something we want to hear.
