Pam Grier Joins Cast of Smallville as Villainess

Blaxploitation icon and L-Word regular Pam Grier is joining the cast of Smallville for multiple episodes (and I’m jumping for joy). Pam Grier is my favorite action hero (and I love Blaxploitation flicks) and Smallville is one of my favorite shows on TV so my nerd-meter is on red right now (see, I don’t always just watch reality TV).

It’s cool how a new generation will be introduced to the actress who on Smallville, will be playing villainess Agent Amanda Waller. I’m a comic book nerd—more Marvel than DC— but this is epic. It’s rare that Smallville (or the comic world period) features any Black heroes or villains so this is huge.

Here’s One Version of Agent Waller:

She first appeared in Legends in 1986. Nicknamed “the Wall”, she is a former congressional aide and government agent often placed in charge of the Suicide Squad, a semi-secret government-run group of former supervillains working in return for amnesty (she’s a character that’s good or decent when it suits her and vice versa). In 2009, Amanda Waller was ranked as IGN’s 60th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.

Grier will make her debut in the second hour of the upcoming Justice Society-centric two-parter, “Legends” (go figure), scheduled to air in late January.

I cannot wait.

I’m sure you’ll do good like you did in the past. However, I still would like to see you act like you did in the movie “Three the Hard way which is one of my favorite classic movies”. Anyway, good luck.
