The greatest urban drama in television is history.
The final episode of The Wire aired on Sunday, closing the chapter on one of the greatest television shows in history.
The 93-minute finale closed most of the doors that were open, including McNulty and Freamon leaving the police force, Gus somehow unable to convince the editors that Scott Templeton has Jayson Blair syndrome, Marlo walks without any charges and Cheese finally catches a bullet from Slim Charles.
By the way, what took so long to kill Cheese? He needed to catch a bullet last season – he was all talk and had no heart.
What do Wire fans watch now?
The Wire creator David Simon has a new project in July called Generation Kill, a seven-hour mini-series on the best selling book by the same name.
Also in the works from Simon is a drama about musicians in New Orleans, which could land on HBO as well.
What are your thoughts about the series finale?
Good? Bad? Make you cry? (I almost had a tear when they sang The Body of an American at the bar)
