Top Model, Cycle 10 Premiere

“America’s Next Top Model” returned last night with a fresh crop of 14, not 13, wanna-bes, and I gotta say: This season just might be the one that wakes us up from the Dullsville that was Cycle 9. In a word, Fatima. She’s…interesting, right? A Somalian breathtaker with a horrendous, horse-like walk and a holier-than-thou attitude. How in the world did she manage to ruffle the feathers of ghetto girl without gettin’ clocked? And what was the deal with the fur stole?!? Again…interesting. She and Marvita will make the show if they can last through half the season. The two graduated from Top Model Prep, a cute, Charm Schoolesque way to “pass” or “fail” contestants. They are also two of five women of color (Atalya, Stacy-Ann, and maybe Dominique) in the running. With the exception of Claire, the eco-friendly mom, and Katarzyna, the others are a blur.
