TV, Martin Lawrence Style Coming Soon

Given that there are only maybe four Black people left on television (and I squared Oprah for my count) it is so good to find out that Martin Lawrence is back to developing projects for the telly.
One is reportedly an animated comedy in development at Fox.
The show, penned by Rodney Barnes (The Boondocks) is based on Lawrence’s experience growing up in the Washington, D.C.-Maryland “urea.” The as yet untitled series will follow the misadventures of 13-year-old Martin as he comes of age in D.C.
Sounds a lot like Everybody Hates Chris in animation, but I’m still curious.
Another show in development at Starz is a single-camera interracial family show based on the comedy of Gary Owen. If you recall, Owen is the first (and only) White man to host BET’s Comic View.
In addition to those projects, Marty-Mar is also said to be developing a multi-camera family comedy set at a funeral home. Lawrence will shop that one around to various networks.
I’m honestly excited about all of the projects. We need to see more of us on TV, and honestly, we need to see more of us that won’t make me consider putting in an application to the KKK.

Martin is my absolute favorite. He is what is missing from tv. You can never go wrong watching his sitcom, ‘Martin’ or watching one of his movies. I am excited about this. I also feel he didn’t get enough recognition. Besides, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor, he bought raw comedy on the map. And he is down to earth. Bring it on, Martin!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think the movie was for real but if it was it would be wonderfuland i would enjoy it alot. I love both Martin and Jamie
