“Obsessed” is in theatres tomorrow and rumor has it Idris Elba has bailed out of all press.  This week, Elba did not attend the New York City press junket, canceled on BET’s 106 & Park and supposedly he will not be at the red carpet premiere tonight in New York City. Elba’s reps say the actor has been sick all this week.

In a recent interview, Idris talked about the movie receiving a “PG-13″ rating when the script looked like it deserved a “R.”

“When I first looked at the script, I thought the film could have and probably should have received an ‘R’ rating on subject matter alone.”

I’m sure the producers of Obsessed are angry at Elba — probably calling him up yelling, “I’ll show ya’ crazy!” Well, Idris could easily just be sickly.  Regardless if the movie is a success or a bomb, Idris is an established and respected actor who has a career etched in stone.

Obsessed is in theatres tomorrow.

UPDATE:  Idris’ folks gave us a call and said he had a “terrible case of the flu,” but he is feeling better and he will be at the red carpet tonight in New York City.  Glad he is feeling better and the rumors aren’t true!
