It has been a big year for Mariah Carey. She was in the movie Tennessee and received rave reviews for her performance. Her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is in stores now and she plays a Harlem social worker in the highly anticipated Precious. Always had a question for the pop princess? Also, the legendary Katie Couric interviewed Sapphire, who wrote the novel Push, which has been made into the movie Precious. The Lee Daniels movie is in theaters a week from today, November 6th. In the clip below, Sapphire talks how the book became a movie.

You moved from another state to New York and experienced being homeless. I admire you for never giving up. My question is, how long is a reasonable time to give yourself to get your big break ? I was thinking, if nothing happens within a year of me moving to Far Rockaway, NY then I should move back to Indianapolis.
What is your advice Mariah ?
Mariah, other than the time you had your break down and dropped out of the lime light for a moment to get yourself together, do you wish you could do your music without all the hupla,gossip,finger pointing,back bitting,hateing. I’m sure it is a small amount of people. I like you and Nick together,and what God joins together no MAN can put asunder. My dad is 16yrs older than my Mom. He is now 91 and she is still by his side, 10 kids still. My dad worked 4 jobs to support his family. He did not want her to work, but she wanted to because other women where doing it(1966). Mariah, no matter what other people say to you and Nick about you and Nick, move FOWARD. You two have control of your mind and your future. You two grow in grace(love). PEOPLE These two have more money than octo mom, so do you really think she is having a problem having a(1) baby? KEEP IT REAL AND STOP HATEING.

I am soo proud of u in this role. No other artist have been able to do what u have with a come back. It is almost 20yrs since ur in the lime light and u’r still hot as if u had now entered. I congratulate u in ur marrage and unlike a lot of hollywood stars who plan to live unmaried u did the right thing. May God preserve your marrage and keep u safe.
