In other news, Janet Jackson officially has a Twitter account and although she only has two tweets, she did mention she just wrapped filming on Why Did I Get Married Too? Her account read: ‘I just finished working on the film, ‘Why Did I Get Married Too.’ I’m looking forward to getting started on my new album!’

2010 just might be the comeback year for Janet Jackson. Last year there were some troubles with her tour, her record label and then there was the death of her brother, the late-great Michael Jackson. We look forward to a Janet comeback!

A biopic about Michael Jackson is a Hollywood must. The potential film has A-list and Oscar written all over it. The story of the pop icon is full of highs, lows, success, drama and a climatic ending. Well, of course we need a cast and here is what I propose for the MJ story — I am sure the movie is already in the works and Steven Spielberg is trying to buy the rights!

Young Michael Jackson: Tristan Wilds
Tristan has made a name for himself in movies like The Secret Life of Bees and his role on 90210. Wilds could capture the essence of an ethnic Michael on the rise, battling insecurities and achieving incredible success.

Older Michael Jackson: Evan RossWho else? Ross can act and he has personal experience with the King of Pop. Plus, there is an uncanny resemblance to Michael post the Bad era. Fans could trust Ross to not sensationalize Michael’s memory, but still be authentic.

Lisa Marie Presley: Megan Fox

The current Hollywood “it” girl, Fox has the look and sass to play the rock ‘n roll princess, Lisa Marie Presley. Presley was Jackson’s ex-wife and often talked about how she wanted to save Michael.

Janet Jackson: Zoe Saldana
Saldana is an excellent actress; give her a script and she can make it work. I’d love to see her as another iconic figure, Janet Jackson, who has made a name for herself outside of her brother’s name. She has the look, sex appeal and compassion to play the youngest Jackson.

La Toya Jackson: Mariah Carey
Carey has proven herself as a good actress with the upcoming Precious and she is even doing drag in her new video. I could easily see Carey as the controversial La Toya, who always wanted to be a star but fell short of the glory.

Katherine Jackson: Oprah Winfrey

You might’ve forgot this but Oprah is an Oscar nominee and she can act. If you don’t believe me add The Color Purple or Women of Brewster Place to your Nextflix ASAP. Winfrey could wrap herself in the compassion that makes up Mother Jackson — although the Grand O would have to tone down that slave accent. You know she loves to do that in all her films!

Jermaine Jackson: Jamie Foxx
Jamie would need to be in this movie in some capacity and I see him as Jermaine, who has always stepped up in controversy. He has been the family spokesman in the hardest times and has battled the media when they have torn his family to pieces.

Joe Jackson: Ving Rhames
Like many people, Michael had a complex relationship with his father. The King of Pop revealed there was child abuse, but he would later resolve his relationship with his father and often talked about how much he loved him. Rhames would give a respectable performance as Joe Jackson.

Debbie Rowe: Rosie O’Donnell
Michael’s baby mama should be played by none other than Rosie O’Donnell. Slap a wig on Ro and you got Debbie Rowe!

Who would you like to see in a movie about Michael Jackson?

We’ve all had those moments where we sat through a two hour movie and said, “Why did they do that? Did they read the script?” Well, check out some of the worst film catastrophes from your favorite bloggers across on the web.

Star from Stay Tuned says:

Cuba Gooding Jr. in Snow Dogs! I’m all for children’s movies, but that flick definitely makes the list for one of the worst movies of all time. He tried too hard to be funny and hasn’t fully recovered yet. However, I liked him as Nickey Barnes in American Gangster (although it was a small part) so I’ll keep hope alive for Cuba!

***

Runteldat from Entertainment Spotlight says:

Janet Jackson in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? — in the scene that was supposed to be a tearjerker, Janet was about as convincing as her brother in a self-esteem competition. What happened to the kid actor with all the chops on Good Times? Hopefully Mrs. Gordon still doesn’t own an iron.

***

Gyant, Blogger/Social Critic at GyantScoop.com says:

Everybody who knows me knows that I love me some Oprah. But I got to say that out of all her movies she’s starred in—I could bust her in the head with a Gyant pillow for making Beloved. Oprah’s trying to get her negro spiritual on and we’re all looking at the screening thinking, “Why the hell is Oprah playing in the dirt?”

***

The Young, Black & Fabulous says: Gabrielle Union in Perfect Holiday: Not only are we supposed to believe for the 10th movie in a row that she’s gorgeous and still can’t find a man—but Morris Chestnut is her man for the umpteenth time and they still can’t make that ish work?

***

Love B. Scott says:

Lord knows I love myself some Mariah Carey but when it comes to her 2001 almost autobiographical film, Glitter, let’s just be honest—Mimi’s Glitter should have came no where near the box office but rather selected to make its debut on VH1!

Clay from What the Flick says:

Eddie Murphy used to have a knack for making the offensive laughable. However, in 2007’s Norbit, the legendary comedian brought a minstel show to the big screen. The flick is an awful journey in a lifetime of movie -going experiences. Some say this film is why he lost the Oscar for Dreamgirls.
