It’s horror movie season and one of the first flicks up to bat is Paramount’s Paranormal Activity. Here is the synopsis:
After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
I don’t want to give up the plot so I won’t say much, but it is shot in Blair Witch Project style. The first-time director, Oren Peli, madeParanormal Activity for just under $11,000. Currently, the film is being show in just a few cities, but if you want to see what all the buzz is about click here to request Paranormal Activity in your town. In total grassroots style, if the film gets one million demands it’ll receive a nationwide release.

Originally, I was giving ANightmare On Elm Street the side eye, but judging by this trailer (and directed by Michael Bay) this might actually work. It looks like they added more of a suspense element and took out some of the raunchy camp that ruined Freddy Krueger in later versions.
The 1984 original was a pop culture classic with Robert Englund as Freddy - this time there is a new Freddy by the name of Jackie Earle Haley. He has some sharp gloves to fill!
A Nightmare On Elm Street is in theaters April 30, 2010 (yeah, I know we all wished it came out this Halloween season). Check out the trailer below!

Ever come across a movie where you see the trailer and you just feel it right in your scalp that the flick is going to be brilliant? This is the feeling I had when I interviewed Chris Rock for I Think I Love My Wife back in 2007 and hementioned he was making a documentary on African-American hair. Rock might be in the running for an Oscar nod in the best documentary category!
Check out the latest trailer for Chris Rock’s Good Hair, which includes commentary from Ice-T, Nia Long, Paul Mooney, Raven Symoné, Maya Angelou, Salt n Pepa, Eve and Reverend Al Sharpton.
