Get the Look: Alicia Keys’ Style At The BET Awards

Celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff and celebrity hairstylist, Tippi Shorter share what they did to create Alicia’s Red-Carpet Look at this year’s BET Awards.
Inspiration: Morocco. “This look was inspired by her recent trip in May for the Mawaline Festival,”‘ explains Ashunta. “Alicia’s short bejeweled shift dress by Jenny Packham in its soft aqua truly brought out her golden complexion. I wanted to give her a touch of sun-kissed glow and Egyptian/Moroccan eyes with coral lips reminiscent of the colors of a Moroccan Paradise.”
On Skin: “Mary Kay Oil Free Hydrating Gel to make skin supple and soft. Oil of Olay Illuminating Eye Cream to diminish imperfections, Naked Cosmetics Shadow Base, Laura Mercier Mineral Primer.”
Face: “Mary Kay Oil free Tinted Moisturizer in Bronze 1, Mary Kay Concealer in Bronze 1, Black Opal Translucent Finishing Powder, Cover Girl Queen Collection Natural Hue Mineral Bronzer in Light Bronze.
Eyes: “I created Egyptian-inspired eyes using Jane Iredale 24 Karat Gold Shimmer in the inner corner of the eyes, Naked Cosmetics eye color in EC15 Green in the outer corner and lower lash line. Then applied Makeup Forever Gold Cream on the lid. To give Alicia a Cleopatra eye affect I used Styli Style 24 hour liquid liner in black and completed the look by adding three coats of Dior Show mascara in black on top and bottom lashes.”
Lips: “I used Mary Kay Coral Lip liner I lined and filled lips in then used TRUE lip gloss an all natural organic brand in Coral to give Alicia a beautiful coral pout.”
Cheeks: “I applied Mary Kay Strawberry Cream Mineral blush on the apples of her cheeks to make them pop.”
Body: “My secret weapon [for] body glow is a combination of Dior Bronze Sun Powder Spray, Smashbox Bodylights Body Lotion Shimmer and Girlactik Beauty Gold Shimmer powder. The combination gave Alicia an amazing bronzed sun-kissed glow to make her legs and décolletage flawlessly stunning.”
On Hair by Tippi Shorter
Prep: “I used Ego-Boost Leave-in by Bed Head to detangle,” begins Tippi. “Then applied 24-hour Body Mousse by Tressemé. This provided the foundation to have those big curls last through that heat.”
Curl: “I used an iron about the size of my pinky to refine her curls and added the Ojon Serum to seperate and fluff her curls. I finished the look with Tressemé 24-hour Body Holding spray.”

Alecia girl,,,,you are a true beauty,love the dress. I realize lately that you are going shorter and shorter,you look like you were feeling uncomfortable siting in that dress even though you were sexy as hell in it.
