Makeup Mishap: Don’t Try This At Home, Solange

Published by Marcia Cole on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 11:30 am.

christinadior

During fashion week there are plenty of makeup looks to heart. Some I can’t wait to try or see on our favorite celebs. Witness the look at Christian Dior’s  Spring 2009 collections, for example. Then there are others, like the looks featured at Barbie’s 50th Celebration during the Fall 2009 shows, that you know are strictly for show, photographs and not, I repeat, not for every day looks.

barbie_402But somehow that message has been lost on little Knowles who is trying–and in more and more cases–succeeding to carve out her own distinct look from older sister B.  With black ringlet curls  and a hint of color on eyes, she  stands pretty.
Solange KnowlesBut lately, she’s morphed into a cosmic cosmetic conundrum, looking more like she had a co-starring role in Star Trek, rather than Zoe Saldana. Here she is earlier this year with  a one-inch swipe of eye color…

SolangeThen with half-an-inch swipe of alien shadow….

Solange KnowlesWhat do you think? Is she trying too hard? Do you love it or hate it?
