What would you do with another stimulus check?

Remember those $300 checks the government gave out earlier this year? There might be more coming.

Congress is considering another “economic stimulus” giveaway, but likely won’t make a move until after the election ends. The point, of course, is to put some money back in people’s pockets so they can spend and hopefully help the economy. But since it didn’t prevent a meltdown the last time around, why would it help now?

If you got another stimulus check today, would you save the money or spend it?

I’d do both. I’d pay off a bill and put the rest of it in savings. No sense in shopping if it’s not out of necessity at this point.

Heck naw, I wouldn’t spend it, I’d pay off some of my debt.

Unfortunately I don’t think too many people are in a position to spend right now. I’d use every dime to pay bills.

The first stimulus check I saved, it gave a nice boost to my emergency fund. I still have all of it in the bank.

If I got a second check I would apply the whole thing (no matter how large or small) toward paying off my student loans.

The economic stimulus concept is a real joke in my opinion. The dole is not big enough to really entice one to get footloose and fancy free with spending. The the gov’t would have to think in terms of bank bail out level to really make a difference. I’m thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 5K a person/household. Although personally, I’d use that $ for a luxury spa vacation in a foreign country somewhere in essence simulating a non-US economy.. hence defeating the purpose. :D

I would save it…. I really want to get 12 months worth of emergency savings in the bank.

No matter what the amount is, it would be going towards a bill.

I would give it to my parents who are on an extremely fixed income (SSI & SSA) as seniors and really can’t afford everyday living expenses.
