Comments(20) I don’t even know where to start with this one, so I’ll just let you have at it:
A 29-year-old mother of seven in Cincinnati was arrested yesterday for handcuffing her kids so they couldn’t eat all the food in the house. The woman, Kena Ross is on welfare and said that was the only way she could keep the food from running out before the end of the month came.
I’ll let you have at this on the message boards now. What’s your take: desperate mother who made a mistake trying to make ends meet? Or just triflin’?

What tha …? More evidence that ‘common sense aint common at all’. This is a case of stupidity meets abuse.
I am no doctor, but clearly this woman is NOT dealing with a full deck and is in desparate need of psychiatric services.
I assuming the lady is not crazy. I am not supporting what she did, but I can understand. I work everyday and the prices at grocery store are sky high.(Creme of wheat has gone from $1.69, $2.69 and now is $3.19!!!!!) I have two boys, 5 & 8, who can eat a box of cereal in two days. Can one imagine what 7 kids can eat….. I really feel for her because if you have to wait on your monthly check hungry kids looking at you is no joke…..

I understand that food prices are rising quickly but I would like to see more black women think about this before CHOOSING to populate the black community with more illegitimate children…. yes…. illegitimate children tend to grow up in socioeconomically inferior communities.
The average cost to feed, house, clothe and educate a child through the age of 18 is $200,000. Do our sistas think of THAT when they hop in bed with a man who has not married them?
I am not saying that marriage GUARANTEES that a man will be a father and a parent and a husband but I am saying that black women need to stop settling for the okey doke.
If it is seriously like that where she was worried about the food running out before the end of the month she should have locked up the food, not the kids.
I have known people with pad locks on their refrigerators, locks on their cabinets, secret stash of soda in their room so they lock their bedroom door, locked freezers in the garage, etc.
I’m a believer in doing what you have to do to maintain she just handled it in the wrong way. Meaning she had the right idea of rationing the food but locking up the kids just wasn’t the way to do it.
What a horrible story. Kids get hungry..what are you going to do? It’s just life…poor kids.
