Solange is very talented and her style is much different from Beyonce’s. Actually, she stands out more than the majority of the female artists of any musical genre out now. She’s very original and she’s not caught up in trying to be sexy like most of these female celebrities out here, and I truly respect her for that. Keep doing what you do, Solange!

I don’t see how anybody can think Solange is trying to be like her sister in any sort of way. Like its been said it’s obvious her style comp[ared to her sister is COMPLETELY different and unlike anybody elses. She is being herself, and doing what she loves to do, what she’s good at. Um, I don’t think that Solange is trying too hard she is doing her. Beyonce’ blasted the world with her talent and America loves to judge and mostly they judge negatively. I just feel that since Solange is the younger of the two people just expect her to do if not good but better that Beyonce’, and if she don’t come with it she will be judge wrong. Solange is Neo-Soul.?????…………. Wow. Solange ATTEMPTS to do Neo Soul but Neo Soul she is not. She is more teeny-bopper pop. It seems that someone told her to go in the direction of Neo-Soul (a different vibe than her sister) but it’s not Neo-Soul. Floetry does not try to do Neo-Soul, India Arie does not try to do Neo-Soul, Musiq Soulchild, Erykah Badu, Bilal and others……………… now why don’t I see Solange in this picture????

I agree with Soul Chile. Just because Solange is selling a certain persona does not mean she is being real. There is nothing real or new about what Solange is doing. All those saying that must be in their teens. She isn’t trying to be like Beyonce but she is very much going out of her way to seperate herself from Beyonce. Yes, she is very much so trying hard to do that. This whole “ne-yo” soul act is just that – an act. Her image was created soley to set her apart from Beyonce. Solange is talented but not real.

Hey. I like Solange’s new style. It’s fresh and different, and unlike her sister. As some of you have said, it’s got to be hard for her to live in the shadow of who may be the world’s biggest star. I remember seeing old footage of Destiny’s Child practicing, when Beyonce was young and Solange looked to be about 3 years old…her parents were TOTALLY ignoring her and focusing on the other girls. I imagined that kinda thing only worsened as she got older. So now it’s her time to shine. Good for her!
