You gotta love her!

Dayyyym. Our First Lady is hot! I mean, she is a classy and lovely woman and we can all learn a lot from her.

Political blogs are going to freak out about her wearing another sleeveless dress. (She’s amazing and it’s cool to have a stylish First Lady and all, but OMG sleeveless!) Give me a break! Lady’s got taste.

Shoot, I’m starting to think she loves her biceps as much as America does. And I love that particular cut, where it narrows a bit at the shoulders. If you’ve got great shoulders (and Shelle does), it really shows them off.

Can I call her Shelle? How did Barack Obama land her? Oh yeah, his smile. Oh wait, that’s how he got me.

P.S. Seriously, on some Photography 101 ish, that curtain jacks up the whole composition. Don’t make people look like they have curtains/trees/etc. growing out of their heads. And photoshop the wrinke out of her dress and the flower blocking her hand. All three irk me. Now I’m off to do some push-ups. Some.

Maybe not, but she looked stunning.

Michelle’s dress, I loved it. I think it’s pretty and looks pretty on her.

I also thought it was very, very safe choice and a lil’ boring. It was nice, but nothing  breathtaking. Out of all those sketches, an all the options she must have had, I just hoped she’d pick something more … you know, hotter.

It was one step away from a regular, silky little black dress. Something brighter, or with a bit of glitter detail would have been nicer to me. Oh well. There’s always four years from now. Sigh.

Michelle Obama’s January 20th threads may still be the hot topic, but rest assured all eyes will be on Barack Obama on the big day, which is expected to draw from 1 million to 4 million people to Washington.

The big debate: Suit or Tux?

Rumor has it … Obama plans to wear a tuxedo (the first he’s bought in 16 years) by Hart Schaffner Marx.

I’m not a big fan of tuxedos. Give me a good suit any day.

Tuxedos say one of three things to me …

“I rented this for prom.” “I will be your waiter this evening.” “My wife set me up.”

Someday I would like to see a president do something other than a tuxedo. I don’t know, a kilt or something or a suit even.

Seriously, suits should be brought back. Suits and fedoras and canes and vests and a long scarf…

I’m kidding. Cadillac Records overload. What I really mean … Can we bring back dressing up, period!

The pressure is on. Designers are sketching up a storm, hoping our First Lady-elect will choose their design to wear during Washington DC’s inauguration festivities.

I’ll be in the mix, and I’m totally excited to see what the Obama clan will wear come January 20th. I’m sure Malia and Sasha are going to be too cute for words.

These sketches are gorgeous, and Michelle Obama is model-gorgeous with amazing classic taste. She looks beautiful in the more tailored, structured pieces she wears.

Whatever she chooses, she is bound to look comfortable and confident, and that’s what makes her so attractive.

Personally, I’m hoping for bright fruity colors. They would be great with her complexion and would represent the energetic, optimistic mood of the moment.

Politics aside, I want these.

Politics considered, I want these, but only so I can say stuff like “I’m wearing my Obama boots today.”

The modest-heeled boot named after President-elect Obama is called the Obama piombo and is described as a “gorgeous rich mottled grey leather high shaft boot with decorative tonal stitching curves along the height of the shaft.” Umm, yea.

It’s also said to have a “snug fitting zipper shaft, leather sole, leather covered heel.”

Yup, I’ve heard it all.

Having words like “rich mottled grey” and “shaft” and “snug” and “zipper” in the same sentence with “Obama” just don’t sit right.

Okay, okay, get your mind out of the gutter … Yes, our new President is very good-looking, very photogenic and is completely committed to his wife, but he is an elected official, so I don’t fantasize (much) about him.

Now, who wants Obama? A-hem, Obama boots that is.

It makes me so excited just to look at him. He’s young, attractive, African American, brilliant, charming, handsome, courageous, eloquent, intelligent, well-mannered, likeable, cool, amazing …

Yup. Nope. Nothing fashionable to say here … Although, those are some immaculate Aasics.

I posted the pic because I miss him. Is anyone else suffering from lack-of-Obama exposure? His news conference today gave me a small fix, and this pic helped.

Blue was the hot color for the fashion industry this election season …

… And Red is the color of a winner!

When Obama said, “The new First Lady, Michelle Obama,” that’s when the snot and tears really started to flow.

Was I the only one crying while scanning Michelle’s outfit the entire time? Designers, not to mention the rest of the world, will be keeping a close eye on the Obamas. That said, she’ll have plenty more chances as First Lady to rock her fabulous tastes.

Yes, it was truly an historic night as the First Family-Elect took to the stage at Grant Park all dressed in red-and-black. Michelle Obama chose Narciso Rodriguez, wearing a sheath dress from the designer’s Spring 09 collection.

She paired the dress with a black cardigan and kitten heels, adding a touch of sparkle with diamond trinkets. She nailed it. Sheath dresses accentuate your height, figure and legs.

My mom didn’t love, but I thought she looked beautiful. And it looks really great in photographs, which, I believe, was most likely the point.

Yes, it would have been nice to see the dress without the cardigan … The addition diminished the hourglass effect created by the diagonal bands. Oh well. Love it or hate it, this dress will forever be apart of history.

It will be refreshing to have a First Lady with a progressive sense of fashion. Michelle is beautiful inside and out, strong and so smart.

Am I the only one who liked the dress? I was so glad it was not a damn shiny suit.

I love her and I loved her dress.

Just imagine all the designers creating mood boards today over the idea of making her inaugural gown. Lucky, lady.

“A new dawn of American leadership is at hand.” He is so Presidential.

Freakin’ beautiful. I am so proud. His speech filled me with so much joy. I didn’t think it was possible to contain this much happiness.

This is the most romantic country ever.

I also have to say … and I don’t mean this to cheapen things, but is this the hottest first family America has ever had or what?

To see Michelle on that stage … To be a Black woman and see her looking so regal and so fly on that stage … I’m speechless. I’m 20-something-years-young and I’m looking at her in awe. And that dress … Perfectly suited! On-point. Love.

Just look at her. Look at what we can do.

With Election Day here, it’s now time for the big push! We all have to do our part today to push Obama up the mountain. We’ve been given a second chance to reverse the past 8 years and do things right this time.
