One week each March, Miami transforms itself into a traditional Latin street festival. Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) becomes the scene of Carnaval as over a million spectators gather to celebrate in the city’s largest annual party. Over the weekend twitter and social media was alive and kicking with updates from all the festivities. But I don’t think anyone can argue where it was really going down. At SW 17th Avenue. While I wasn’t there, I hear it’s not fully considered Calle Ocho until Power 96 drops some booty bass. “Miami’s Party Station” locked in fantastic acts like Fat Joe, Flo Rida, Sensato and Atlanta’s own Myko. The R&B/Pop entertainer performed his massive smash “Nothing I Won’t Do.” Myko is no stranger to tearing up the stage. Signed to football star Thomas Jones relatively new label situation, Myko brought his a game to the huge event.

The festival closes of 24 blocks of SW 8th Street to host dancing, food, drink and 30 stages of live entertainment. I heard it was one hell of a party! In 1988, the festival was the scene of a Guinness World Record, as 119,986 people joined in the world’s longest conga line!
