I haven’t even gotten myself all wrapped up in Luda Day weekend just yet, but that doesn’t mean the party is waiting on me. The homie Thaddeus McAadam, and I hear exclusive photographer for Luda Day Weekend, just sent me over day 1 recaps from last nights events.  Lance Gross, Ciara, Letyoa Luckett and more all came out to show Luda and ATL some luv.

Check it out below:

LudayDay Weekend is one of the longest running celebrity weekends in the country, with a focus on the community and celebratory events all held in Atlanta, GA. The 6th Annual LudaDay Weekend kicked off with rapper/actor/philanthropist and entrepreneur, Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges, DTP Records and The Ludacris Foundation, inviting over 1,000 kids from various schools and youth organizations to the Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals Baseball Game.

The momentum from the day spilled into the evening with an after party at Opera Nightclub with host DJ Drama and DJ Sense on the 1s and 2s. Ludacris’ celebrity friends, Ciara, LeToya Luckett, Matt Kemp, LaLa Vasquez, Lance Gross, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Atlanta Hawks player Josh Powell, and more came out to support the kick-off of Ludaday Weekend.

Video: @Ciara Instore w/ Fans At DTLR!

Published by Gyant on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 12:00 pm.

Ciara is pushing her new album “Basic Instinct” to her young fans. And she celebrated her new release with a Instore celebration at DTLR in College Park. CiCi brought her family to this event.

Watch the video above.

Personally I don’t see Ciara having a snowball’s chance in hell of charting anything newsworthy next week when sale projections are released. She hasn’t had a hit single in ages. Some argue that her raunchy image change, her numerous tries at different sounds, etc has pretty much sealed her fate in the eyes of consumers.

I used to be a HEAVY Ciara fan. I still say her first album was a classic. But I’ve longed turned in my Ciara membership card.

Are you getting “Basic Instinct”?

The Scene: @Ciara Celebrates 25th B-Day Party With @UncleRush @JazzyPha @MrPlush & More!

Published by Gyant on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 8:02 am.

Ciara held her private 25th Birthday party this past Thursday. Russell Simmons, Jazzy Pha, Devyne Stephens, Vivica Fox and more all came through to show love.

We all know what happened the last time I tried to attend a Ciara party hosted by AG Entertainment, so I definitely had no plans on attending. And I normally wouldn’t even post anything AG, however a personal phone call from Atlanta promoter Colby Plush of Plush Blue Entertainment expressing how hot the party was that made me change my mind.

Perhaps these promoters are extending an olive branch my way. And lets be honest, I think I’ve made my point [confused? Read Here]. I’m getting too long in the tooth to be harboring negative energy towards Alex Gideon. It is what it is at this point.

Anyway Club Nation was in the building to bring you all an exclusive look inside the event. Congrats to Ciara for making it yet another year on God’s green earth.

Sidebar check the video for imagery of Vivica A. Fox arriving to the party with Plush Blue Entertainment partner Slim.. Things that make you go hhhhmmm.

New Music: @Ciara Teams Up W/ @UsherRaymondIV For “Turn It Up”

Published by Gyant on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 7:18 am.

Ciara is back with some new music.

As we all know, Atlanta’s Pop Princess has been struggling musically for quite some time. And this new track, penned by Ester Dean and produced by T-Minus, is yet another example of that struggle.

“Turn It Up,” which features the comeback kid Usher, has Ciara trying her hand at an uptempo track. Close…but not quite.  To be fair, the track isn’t mastered.

Listen To “Turn It Up” Here

Ciara has turned into that artist who’s trying any and everything to find her musical niche. She had her lane back in the day, but her desire to be the next Beyonce, or so I hear, forced her to abandoned it for greener pastures.

Nobody can deny that Ciara is still a very viable personality. She books shows all over the world for top dollar. However, stateside — especially here in Atlanta — all I hear is crickets.

Cici’s new album, “Basic Instinct,” is set to drop soon, but I can already smell another pushback.

After hearing “Turn It Up” I had to turn it off.

Ciara Drops New Pro Pics + Jumps On “Lose My Mind” Beat!

Published by Gyant on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 4:16 pm.

Atlanta princess Ciara is gearing up for her new album release “Basic Instinct” and I’ve snatched some new promotional pictures. While details from the project are being quiet, I hear..well actually I haven’t heard anything. Have you?

Other then Cici’s and Keri Hilson’s new found beef that boiled over at a weekend event [more on that here], I dont get a sense there’s much interest. Don’t misunderstand me I know she’s still making crazy dough performing all across the world. But as far as new music goes snnnnooooozee.

Ciara’s album cover. Do we like?

Anyway, Cici’s  got a new track out. The statuesque songstress has hopped on Jeezy’s “Lose My Mind” beat.

Video @Ciara & @Gucci1017 Talk Musical Collaboration[s]..

Published by Gyant on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11:20 am.

It looks like Ciara is one smart cookie after all.

Not only am I hearing that she’s paying her bills around the city of the ATL [which is always a great look], but now she’s collaborating with the worlds most celebrated criminal. Well, next to Lil Wayne that is.

CiCi and the man of the hour Gucci Mane ustreamed for fans last night to discuss their surprise new collaborations on each other projects. The two ATLIENS are playing coy, on details, but it’s still a great look no matter how you slice the dice.

Brilliant chess move Ciara just played, by adding the most popular rapper out of Atlanta right now, sorry Jeezy, onto her new album. I haven’t heard any of the project just yet, but we all see her public struggle with “Ride” that’s got the other King of Atlanta Ludacris and sexually ambiguous funkdafied Andre 3000.

Am I suggesting that our former princess of Crunk & B is done in the eyes of music, that’s not my call to make. However it’s obvious if she doesn’t find her niche, and quick, her musical future will most certainly be compromised.

Anyway, watch the unusual chemistry between the two above.

Props to @Rap Radar for the tip.

Rapper @Pill4180 Talks Elevation From Underground To Main Stream & Homophobia In Hip-Hop + @Ciara Gets A New Ride W/ Andre 3000’s Help!

Published by Gyant on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 12:39 pm.

Yesterday I had the chance to chop it up with rapper Pill. He’s heavy on the underground scene, and is almost close to becoming a real contender for a spot amongst ATL’s prestigious group of rappers that the world pumps their fists for.

The Warner Bros/Asylum recording artist was quite candid as we talked about the struggle of becoming that next dude in the game, his medicinal music and his unbiased feelings towards ever performing for the gays of the world.

By now I’m sure you’ve heard that rapper, and Pills great friend Wale, pitched a bitch fit initially when it was leaked that the DC rapper had decided to perform for the gays — an idea he thought was going to be kept quiet and when it was publicly announced chose to back out of the deal.

We all know by now that Wale, under pressure decided to infact perform for his surprisingly large fan base. But checkout what Pill had to say about how we would have handled the situation.

Oh, And Before I Forget….

ciara-andre-3000-1

Shout out Ciara!

Though she’s currently in the fight of her life with her struggling music career, Ciara may have pulled the ultimate move that may save this entire project. Or, at the very least propel this single up the charts.

While Andre 3000 wasn’t cleared to be on Big Boi’s new album, it seems Jive had no problem letting the ambiguous MC hop on Cici’s “Ride” remix with Bei Major. Call me crazy, but the hip-hop upgrade definitely helped out a lot. I can now put the former princess of Crunk & B into my iPod.
