Mogul: @Ludacris’s New Cognac Named Top 10 Cognacs In 2011!

Published by Gyant on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 11:19 am.

With an impressive year!

It looks like Ludacris, DTP and Luda’s cognac partner Kim Birkedal-Hartmann, have a lot to celebrate. Chris’ new spirit endeavor, Conjure Cognac, has just been included on “Top Ten 2011 Cognac list: The Coolest Products For The Next Year” by expert cognac blog site Cognacexpert.com.

With so many long running cognac brands that have taken generations to become popular amongst spirit drinkers, Luda and his fanstastic team jumped leaps and bounds in a little under a year. Bananas!

You all know I live for the Conjure brand. I’ve never been into cognacs, however Luda’s amazing “yac” has so many different elements to it that it blends harmoniously.

Per Cognac Expert:

There is lots of movement in the cognac world so let’s sum it up: Chinese cognac cocktail drinkers go to Versailles, tasting green tea with eaux-de-vie, listening to Ludacris’ rap music, jumping into a swimming pool filled with ‘Punch’, after saluting the ‘Comandonte’, ending up in the garden where a music newcomer festival takes place, with Remy Martin labeled barrels standing around, that are filled with unaged clear brandy – and everyone is waiting for Dr. Dre.

Here is our Top10 list.

1. Conjure Cognac … because Ludacris and Kim Birkedal-Hartmann are in the house. Simple as that. A great launch in the US speaks for itself. Read more about Conjure
2. Remy Martin V … because it’s highly mixable, a clear vodka-like spirit and a clever, clever, clever move to use the brand of a high-end cognac producer to produce a brandy, that is not a cognac.
3. ABK6 … because they have a modern approach to design and taste, win the most awards, are a sympathetic family business and have a Dr. Dre cognac in the pipeline.
4. So Yang … because it’s the only one that combines the Chinese market, a female Chinese RnB spokesperson, the cocktail trend, the wellness trend and women as a targetgroup. Wow.
5. Comandon … because they are rebooting the brand, support several music events, were nominated as 1/12 hottest spirits and have a cocktail called ‘Comandonte’. What a cool name.
6. De Luze … because they are about to reposition their brand in a solid way, have huge production capacities and a great balance of family tradition and modern ideas, plus a website that feels like poetry.
7. Courvoisier Exclusif … because Charles Dickens was a Courvoisier lover, and the re-invention of the “Punch” Cocktail is a great deal of contemporary consumption, story telling and tradition.
8. Martell … because they understand to market their Cognacs in Asia and help restoring historic interiors in Versailles, the birthplace of modern gastronomy.
9. Hennessy Black … because they combine the right events with their brand ‘Artistry’ in a very smart way, are about to test the European market to re-introduce Cognac to Europe as a piece of the HipHop world (which again is a cultural import), starting with the difficult cognac market of Germany.
10. Rastignac … because the Chateau des Plassons is a great small family company with two young brothers managing it with their father, there has to be another smaller producer in this list, and the XO is a masterpiece.

Good job Luda and Conjure!

The Scene: @Ludacris Signs @ConjureCognac Bottles In Ft Lauderdale Today!

Published by Gyant on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10:06 am.

Don’t say I don’t put you on.

Per Broward/ Palm Beach Blog:

This Friday, November 12, from noon to 2 p.m., hip-hop star Ludacris will sign bottles of Conjure Cognac at Super Duper Liquors in Lauderhill (4188 N. State Road 7, Lauderdale Lakes 33319).

According to a news release, “In 2009, Ludacris created and launched Conjure with renowned cognac house, Birkedal Hartmann, a producer of award-winning spirits since 1887. A connoisseur of fine spirits, Ludacris decided to partner with the company, which has supplied its cognacs to Europe’s Royal Houses, because of their stellar reputation around the world as a purveyor of first-class wines and spirits.

“As a 50 percent owner of Conjure,

Ludacris’ equal partnership with Birkedal Hartmann sets him apart from other celebrities who only endorse liquor brands, but do not share stake in the companies they represent. Made from a highly selective blend of thirty to forty eaux-de-vie and aged in Limousin oak barrels up to fifty years old, Conjure provides an unparalleled complexity of smoothness, definition, and flavor. Initially introduced in three U.S. markets, the popularity of the cognac has driven a rapid expansion and Conjure is now available in more than 20 markets and counting.”

Go get your bottle [if age appropriate of course], and picture with Luda. Tell em Gyant sent you.

Honorable Mention @Ludacris Talks @ConjureCognac In New Boston Herald Interview!

Published by Gyant on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 8:28 am.

While other rappers out of Atlanta are being thrown in jail left and right, there’s one who’s staying the straight narrow with an amazing music career, a solidified acting career and now an officially successful new cognac brand. And his name is none other than Ludacris.

The Boston Hearld just did an amazing write up on Conjure, which I have for you above.

Though the spirit is only for 21 and up plus consumers, Luda’s approach to entering the market with anything new in our horrible recession – and he be hugely successful at it — should show us all young and old the quality of putting out a good product

Y’all I know I pump my fists for the entranegro’s for the world, so I just thought Id take a moment to wish Ludacris and his Conjure team kudo’s on a job well done.

Until Next Time…

The Scene: @Ludacris Celebrates @ConjureCognac Named Fastest Growing Spirit In US w/ Atlanta Spirit Vendors [Video]

Published by Gyant on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 4:14 am.

Ludacris and his amazing Conjure cognac team recently held an intimate meet and greet at the for vendors in Atlanta who support his amazing new spirit. STRAITS — Chris Asian-inspired eatery, who’s got the BEST lollipop chicken wings I’ve ever tasted — was the backdrop to this exclusive affair.

If you didn’t know Luda has just added another feather to his cap as Conjure has just been named the fastest growing spirit, not cognac, SPIRIT in the country. Partnering with Kim Hartmann, owner of Birkedal Hartmann cognac, Luda along with his DJ Infamous and DJ Holiday have been marketing and promoting the top shelf product HEAVY in the streets and in the hip-hop community.

Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, Bun B, Kandi Buruss of Kandi Koated Nights & crew, BET’s own Terrence J and more have all rallied around Luda and his new business endeavor all the way to the top. Check some exclusive video I collected for the social media world from the event.

Like the product says: “Imagine The Possibilities”.

Young Buck & Trae The Truth Loves @Ludacris @ConjureCognac

Published by Gyant on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 9:46 am.

Ludacris is killing it with his new Congac, that’s infiltrating every corner of hip-hop. With a catchy slogan, “Imagine The Possibilities,” Luda and his partner Kim Birkedal Hartmann are cornering the market of cognacs with this extremely tasty adult beverage.

For those who don’t know I’m a champion for the Entreprenegro who are doing their thing with projects outside of music. From clothing lines, to spirits, Luda and a few other rappers are really making names for themselves outside of music that’s sure to keep their money long for years to come.

Checkout Trae The Truth and Young Buck showing Conjure some luv.

Nice touch don’t cha think. Fellas, and of course you sexy ladies, I love this product and drink it every Friday night to get my party started.

If you are over the age of 21 be sure to ask for it your next time out and about.
