Download Of The Day: @Bertellonline “The Frat Party, The Waffle House, The Dorm Room” + Plus Open Bar Tweet & Greet TONIGHT!

Published by Gyant on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 9:46 am.

There’s a new artist on the come up out of Atlanta. Known as Bertell, the Houston bred singer has linked up with Grammy Award winning, and industry legend Bryan Micheal Cox.

In the art of full disclosure I have been meaning to support Bertell for quite sometime, but for some reason I never got it done. Bertell, who I hear was a big time high school basketball player, stepped into his fate with a chance meeting with Chauncey Hannibal of Blackstreet who lobbied him to drop the basketball and pick up the microphone.

With youth and idealism on his side, Bertell packed up his bags and moved to Atlanta with stars in his eyes. His first attempt wasn’t a success. After returning to Houston to lick his wounds, Bertell regrouped, fine tuned a few things and somehow returned to ATL with a whole new perspective.

Currently linked up with B.Cox, and with a new situation with Capitol, Bertell is gearing up for a massive musical impact. His new mixtape “The Frat Party, The Waffle House, The Dorm Room” is garnering critical acclaim.

Capitol Records R&B singer Bertell has hooked up with DJBooth to drop his latest street album, “The Frat Party, The Waffle House, The Dorm Room”.

Released in anticipation of debut studio album Goin’ Hard, the mixtape features 15 brand new joints from the Houston-bred crooner, including reader-acclaimed single “Beat It Up.”

Making guest appearances throughout the set are Bobby Valentino, Twista, and Day26 members Willie and Brian. Beats come courtesy Young Pro, Ike Dirty, Ced Solo and more.

01. DJ Infamous Intro
02. Bump N Grind (Remix)
03. Show Off [prod. Young Pro]
04. Headboard (ft. Bobby V) [prod. Squat]
05. Tipsy [prod. Ike Dirty]
06. Bed Squeak [prod. Ike Dirty]
07. Frat Party Skit
08. Bottoms Up (ft. Willie & Brian of Day 26)
09. Bet Not Be [prod. Ced Solo]
10. Beat It Up (ft. Twista) [prod. T.A.]
11. Waffle House Skit
12. Simply Beautiful (with Al Green)
13. Dorm Room Skit
14. Don’t You Worry [prod. B Cox & K Dean]
15. DJ Infamous Outro

Download Of The Day – Young Jeezy”Rap Game”

Published by Gyant on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 8:56 am.

Uh Oh..  Now that winter time is here, it seems the Snowman man is releasing some new music. The newest track from the Def Jam signee has just been released.

Traditionally, I shun street singles. I mean at this point it’s clear that artist are accustomed to putting out whatever they feel will stick to their fans.

Simply titled “Rap Game” Jeezy, it seems that ole Jay Jenkins is trying his best to grab the public’s attention. What do you think?

Download of The Day – Drumma Boy Drops Young Buck’s New Mixtape B.O.M.B.S. Vol. 2

Published by Gyant on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 9:31 am.

Award winning producer Drumma Boy’s been busy off late crafting brand spanking new beats for hip hop artist Young Buck’s new mixtape, B.O.M.B.S. (Back on My Buck Sh#t) Vol. 2.

This will serve as the first in a series of collaborative mixtape releases by Drumma scheduled for the top of the year.

Inspired by the lack of mainstream recognition of talent based out of Tennessee, Drumma and Buck, take it back to the streets creating hard-hitting, base thumping tracks reminiscent of commendable southern rap music from the early 2000’s. With over 150,000 downloads on the web already the heat on B.O.M.B.S is growing more and more every day.

After Back on My Buck Sh#t Vol. 2, Drumma will be releasing two more street albums to complete the series. For this next project, conversations have been in the works to collaborate with artists such as J. Money, Drake, Roscoe Dash, Wale and Wiz Khalifa.

For the mixtape, and the more work by Drumma visit: www.drum-squad.com or follow Drumma on Twitter at @IAMDRUMMA

Downloads Of The Day: New Music From @4IZE @PromiseMusic & @DaArtistTerrell

Published by Gyant on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 6:26 am.

Today I have to put all onto some new music from a few artists who are more than deserving of a shot at becoming superstars. Atlanta’s own 4-IZE continues to persevere with new music and a new album.

4-IZE teams up with producer/engineer Morgan The Mexican Garcia, who is responsible for 80% of the production on this wonderfully orchestrated collection of beats, rhymes & ignorance.

This lyrically fun & star studded project includes featured appearances by B.O.B, De La Soul, Gucci Mane, Phife Dawg (A Tribe Called Quest), Backbone (Dungeon Family), MF Doom, GLC, Punchline, Senor Kaos & MORE!!! Additional producers include: Honorable C-Note, Sol Messiah, Ensayne Wayne, Igloo, Rasta Root, K-Rab & God Bless Beatz.

Listen – 4-IZE feat B.O.B. – “Let’cha Boy Go” (produced by Honorable C-Note)

“Professional Ignorant” album will be available for download 12/2/10 at www.DjBooth.net & itunes.

Atlanta songstress Promise out of has snatched my musical heart. Her live performances are crazy. And, now she’s poised and ready to take over the game, her new song seems appropriate to debut.

With a soulful sound, and a rambunctiousness that reminds me of younger, fresher Pink, Promise is about to step out in the game and make some serious moves. Her new ballad “iPromise” is a nice teaser for you all to check out.

Listen – iPromise

We here at Gyant on BET will be following Promise a lot over the course of the next year.

Terrell Howard has been on my list of new artists I’m watching for quite some time. Howard is a 25 year old singer/songwriter bred from Flatbush, Brooklyn New York, who began crafting his art at an early age.

He attended the Professional Performing Arts High School in NYC, while simultaneously receiving vocal training at the prestigious Julliard.

Upon graduation from high school, Howard was accepted to the highly-competitive, Berklee College of Music. He now resides in Atlanta and is gearing up to make a serious splash in music.

Listen – “Over That”

Download of The Day: @YaGirlDWoods Drops “Lady In The Street”

Published by Gyant on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 8:23 am.

Sheeeee’s Baaaacckk..

Yes ladies and gentlemen, D. Woods — former member of mildly hit group Danity Kane — is back with a new music project.

The appropriately titled “Lady In The Street” is hosted by ATL’s DJ Trauma, and has a few catchy tunes that I’ve added to my daily playlist.

I’m all for artists trying all options to stay relevant, so I pump my fist to D. Woods.
