Atlanta Super Producer Jermaine Dupri has went and gotten himself involved in some blog beef. Or at least that’s the word on the street.
Listen, I’m not into the unnecessary blog drama, but unfolding developments from over the weekend were so insane, that I just have to put you all on to it. According to HipHopBlog.com, JD could be facing criminal charges over an impulsive move he is sure to regret forever.
Per HipHopBlog:
Popular blogger [Blogger Name Removed] has revealed that rapper/entertainment mogul Jermaine Dupri allegedly called her in the middle of the night making threats to physically harm her after she posted an entry on her website called “How the Mighty Have Fallen: Jermaine Dupri Rebounds.”
This was the blogger’s account of the conversation as posted on her website, [blogger site removed]:
“I got people ready to kill you right now!,” he screamed. “I’m letting you know it’s serious in the streets right now,” said JD in a 3-way call from France where he had just finished partying.
He said repeatedly, “I run Atlanta! I got ni**as calling me saying they don’t know what you look like, but all I gotta do is point you out and they will F*CK YOU UP!!!!”
I was extremely offended by all his yelling and cursing and I reminded JD that I was a grown ass woman. “I’m grown too!,” he responded. “I got ni**as that will f*ck you up on sight!”
He wasn’t at all subtle with any of his threats — even though he insisted he wasn’t threatening me. “I know you’re recording this,” he yelled, “and I’m recording it too!” He made death threats apologetically: “You already dead!,” he screamed.
Yikes!
It should be noted that’s it’s being rumored that Atlanta promoter Alex Gideon is the one who initiated the call to throw off said blogger, but JD was patched through to act as an ambush.
First off I must say that I personally don’t condone bloggers getting threatened, etc. However, sometimes people can simply go too far. The original blog, which started this mess, dripped of venom. There was clearly an intention to get up under my favorite little Leprechaun’s skin [<<see I take little digs, too. But harmless ones].
Of course now JD is keeping quiet. When I reached out to him via Twitter inquiring about the who, what, when, where, I garnered the following response:
This entire episode was sparked by a recent interview in Creative Loafing, a local metropolitan paper. While I’m rather disturbed at JD’s psychotic response, I can’t feel too bad for him seeing as though I’ve been asking for an interview for my various media outlets, and the pint-sized musical impresario has shut me down each time. In fact his exact words were, “I don’t do interviews.”
I think he meant to say that he doesn’t do Gyant interviews. Say what you will about me JD, but this would have never happened if you looked my way rather than “the machine” newspaper.
No word yet on the legalities.
