Blog Beef: @SdotThePen Pissed Off The Wrong Blogger!

Published by Gyant on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 9:22 am.

Wow. When are celebs, and I used that term loosely, going to learn to not take the bloggers to task? Especially when it comes to the angry lezbian with no soul.

While I don’t know all the details, Sandrarose.com has posted some damaging [not really, but I feel like being a tad bit dramatic] info on Full Force inspired artist Sean Garrett that doesn’t paint the musical homie in the best light:

Garrett wasn’t asked for money or for gifts. He was simply asked to give of his time, which he agreed to do — as long as he received face time on my blog in return.

Sean and I discussed this contest at length over a period of 4 weeks. We even discussed it in person over lunch. And when the deadline passed without a word from him, I emailed Garrett to remind him. But Sean conveniently ignored my emails.

In the meantime, he emailed me promotional videos and shots of himself shirtless or with a LSLH chick on the set of of his music videos, which I posted.

But I politely declined to post more promo photos of him in July, and I again reminded him of his commitment. I never heard back from him until last night when I told his publicist via email that I was done supporting Garrett.

She had emailed me to invite me to his “mixtape” party at the Gold Room where he planned to give away 2 Louis Vuitton bags.

When I told her (in so many words) that Sean could kick rocks, Garrett quickly responded with this email blurb:

Please Call me Sandra u know I love me some Sandra
I just got really really overwelmed and I need to make this up to u.Please call me asap

Does his pathetic pleading remind you of anyone?

Interesting to say the least. I know there are two sides two every story. Sean, if there’s anything you’d like to clear up lemme know. Either way its still great grist for the mill.

Until Next Time…

The Scene: @V103ATL’s “Car & Bike Show” Coverage [Video]

Published by Gyant on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 9:59 am.

This year the V103 “Car and Bike Show” came and went. Diddy stopped through to be a diva. Dirty Money still looks like they need some work. Rick Ross showed up draped in Sean John, naturally of course. And some rappers got us all thrown out of Diddy’s ciroc luxury lounge.

Check below for the pics.

Sean “The Pen” Garrett and DJ Infamous.

Monica with her boyz. Isn’t she beautiful?

Dondria Nicole blessed the stage. And I hear she’s the opening act on Monica and Trey Songz tour.

Pleasure P showed up in great spirits.

Tionna Smalls, Gyant and Monica.

B.O.B. showing a little fan some love.

Ciroc Luxury Lounge.

Cassie and Dirty Money’s Dawn and Kalenna

Big Boi doing his thing. Oh and thanks for that, sir.

Gucci Mane, and his gut made a “secret appearance”

Souljah Boy slid on through.

As you all know we here at BET are still involved in a bitter war with youtube.com, thus I can’t post the video that I got from the weekend. But thankfully there’s Gyantunplugged.com, where you can log on and watch the V103 hillarity.

Until Next Time…

Video: @ThePen & @NickiMinaj Drop “Get It All” + Keep The Change Comic Strip!

Published by Gyant on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 11:24 am.

Mega songwriter Sean Garrett drops a new video with that damn Nicki Minaj called “Get It All.”

I really like Garrett aka The Pen aka our modern day Full Force, but his vocal ability is lacking too much for me to by into him as an entertainer. Garrett, who’s written such mega songs for the likes of Beyonce, Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, and many many more, is hell bent on you all loving him as a star.

There’s just one problem, he’s not.

My opinion comes from no personal disdain, just call it a gift from having my finger on the pulse of the people. And I hate to say it, but people don’t care.

Perhaps its his mouse voice, perhaps its the height, or his inability to grow any facial hair I don’t know. Maybe songwriters need to learn that no matter how much money they amass it’s not a direct reflection on the writers stardom.

Yes, I’ve heard the tales of Sean throwing caution into the wind once his beloved mother past [this is public knowledge people], however I personally don’t see it happening no matter how much money you throw at it.

Could I be wrong about Garret’s budding music career? Sure, but I highly, HIGHLY doubt it.

Unfortunately the evil battle between Viacom and Youtube prevents me from posting the video on the BET Blog, but thanks to a legal loophole you can slide on over to Gyantunplugged.com to check it out for yourself.

Sean along with Gucci Mane and Tyga Tyga shot the flashy video in the streets of Atlanta area recently, in hope of touching the people and to build some buzz for Sean, who is struggling to find his footing as he transitions from songwriter to singer.

“She Geeked” is off the new mixtape from Garret called “The Inkwell”.

Listen to “She Geeked” - Sean Garrett Feat. Guci Mane & Tyga

Doesn’t Sean remind you of Full Force from the 80’s. You know big body small voice.

Let’s hope this new mixtape brings some much needed heat his way.
