Ciara is back with some new music.

As we all know, Atlanta’s Pop Princess has been struggling musically for quite some time. And this new track, penned by Ester Dean and produced by T-Minus, is yet another example of that struggle.

“Turn It Up,” which features the comeback kid Usher, has Ciara trying her hand at an uptempo track. Close…but not quite.  To be fair, the track isn’t mastered.

Ciara has turned into that artist who’s trying any and everything to find her musical niche. She had her lane back in the day, but her desire to be the next Beyonce, or so I hear, forced her to abandoned it for greener pastures.

Nobody can deny that Ciara is still a very viable personality. She books shows all over the world for top dollar. However, stateside — especially here in Atlanta — all I hear is crickets.

Cici’s new album, “Basic Instinct,” is set to drop soon, but I can already smell another pushback.

After hearing “Turn It Up” I had to turn it off.

Last nights 2010 BMI Urban Awards was truly a night to remember. Being the first blogger to have the access that I did to bring you all a live blog gave me the opportunity to rub elbows with some of musics elite. I snagged interviews with everyone from Will.I.Am to David Banner to Gorilla Zoe and Yung Joc.

Listen, you all know i have my report to file, but let’s allow the hard working publicity team at BMI like Hanna Pantle / BMI Los Angeles, Marlene Meraz / BMI Los Angeles, and Jamil Walker / BMI New York to have their moment.

Per BMI Press Release:

U.S. performing right organization Broadcast Music, Inc. saluted the songwriters, producers and music publishers of the most-performed R&B, rap and hip-hop songs September 10 at its annual Urban Awards. BMI presented the BMI President’s Award to will.i.am in recognition of The Black Eyed Peas co-founder’s work as an artist, producer, and humanitarian. Lil Wayne took home his second consecutive Urban Songwriter of the Year; “Boom Boom Pow” earned Urban Song of the Year; EMI Music Publishing claimed the Urban Publisher of the Year crown; and BMI Urban Producer of the Year went to Polow Da Don.

B.o.B, Usher, Pleasure P and Flo Rida performed throughout the awards show, while the BMI/SunTrust #1 Show before the ceremony featured performances by Jay Sean and Cali Swag District, and was hosted by LaLa.

BMI President & CEO Del Bryant and Catherine Brewton, Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Atlanta, hosted the ceremony along with Ray J at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. Sponsors of the 2010 BMI Urban Awards included SunTrust, Coke,  Hennessy/Moet, Smart Water and TW Steel Watches.

Even though I wanted to, and I mean REALLY bad, I couldn’t hate on Usher one bit. He put his foot in it.

Cali Swag District.. Anybody know who they are? I have no idea.

Oh I forgot I also interviewed former ATLIEN La La. Yes people before she was a household name  [OK that was a stretch] she used to hold down ATL on HOT 107.9 with Ludacris.

My apologies for being absent. But this years BET Awards was crazy. I’m just now recovering. But I got juicy scoop from the streets of ATL so lets get into it.

Could Usher Raymond ex Tameka Foster be homeless soon? That’s the rumor on the blogs, particularly from blogging warrior ATLIEN from Straightfromthea.com.

According the popular ATL site, Tameka Foster has been losing her financial mind and is burning through Ush’s money. OK, I might had added a little bit to that last sentence. And he’s selling his second property in Atlanta, where Tameka and his two sons are currently living.

Per ATLIEN:

My good friend who is a Receptionist at a well-known Atlanta Real Estate Firm called me today and said that one of Usher’s people contacted their office inquiring about having one of their Real Estate professionals meet with him to place his $3.2 million dollar Roswell/Crabapple, Georgia estate home that he shared with Tameka Foster on the market. The home is located on 4 acres in the beautiful gated Glenayre community and Tameka and the kids are presently living in it.

The gorgeous European, Traditional has 5 huge bedrooms along with 5 baths. The home also has an oversized Bonus Room, Exercise Room, Family Room, Library/Office, Recreation Room, Separate Living Room and a ground pool. The home has a line work-out center on the terrace level along with a complete game room and bar. Usher also has a private garage that can house 8 cars from his collection.

Personally I don’t really care about former celebrity wives and their drama. They march to beat of their own paths. I am however curious to see where this story takes us as it develops.

Would Ush throw Tameka — and essentially his kids — with nowhere to go? Absolutely not. However, I can see him putting his estranged into a much more meager estate minus all the luxuries.

Or perhaps us bloggers are making a mountain out of a molehill. Who the hell knows, just don’t say I didn’t put you on the dirt. And Tameka please save your phone calls to people about this rumor. I didn’t start it, dammit!
