Nelly Vs. America!!!
May 20th, 2008 I’ve heard this phrase before it’s just worded differently. It’s, like, Black
Hip-hop is a voice and it’s going to forever be heard and I do think we go too far sometimes, which is the world. The world is being influenced by capital and money. And that’s whats running this country. This whole country was built on that. This whole country was built on capital, and money, and thievery, and took this land. We killed to have this land. We didn’t ask. We didn’t even know what language to ask in. How could you ask when you don’t even know what language. You don’t even know how to ask. When they hit the rock, Plymouth rock or whatever the f**k, how you gonna talk to a native American when you don’t even know what the f**k they speaking? You don’t need to talk. You got guns, you got gun powder and cannons. They over here on horses with arrows. Of course, everybody else is gonna be like ‘hey, whatever you want.’ But that’s this whole country, and people are crazy to think its going to run any other way when yore foundation is shaky. Your foundation is built on lies, thievery, stealing, and murder. In order for somebody to be rich a crime has to take place somewhere down the line. That what divides. The only way a person casn get ahead is to step somebody down. Evolve and evolve and evolve. Now, hip-hop is making money, we’re making strides, we’re the biggest music on the planet, and we’re also the largest black employers on the planet, so its allowing more brother and sisters to do other positive things, and send my kids to some of the best schools in the country. And to solidify trust funds, leave trust funds, have health care. It’s a beautiful thing, and I’m happy to be a part of it.
