“Fame” singer Amber Rose appeared on MTV’s “RapFix Live” Wednesday to promote her new single with boyfriend Whiz Khalifa.While discussing her new project, Kanye’s former muse and girlfriend opened up about the perils of being attached to such a recognizable worldwide artist/producer. There were not always good times to be had. It seems some of West’s über fans made life a living hell for the Philly native after she broke up with the Louis Vuitton Don.

“I have people throwing things at me in the street because they’re fans of Kanye,” Amber said before she began to cry on set. “I’m just crying because I don’t deserve to be bullied like that. I’m a nice girl, I don’t bother anybody. I keep my mouth shut because I don’t want any trouble.”

No matter what opinion you have of Amber and people like her in the entertainment industry, she brings to the surface a very valid point about über stans willing do any and everything to protect their favorite public figure. With the dawn of social media, fans are able to get closer to celebrities than ever before and, as a result, have presented some very scary situations. The line between a passionate fan and an all-out stalker is difficult to distinguish these days, and the ability to reach out to your favorite rapper, singer, etc, instantly doesn’t help the situation.

West is also in the news again over a stan who has decided to change her name legally to Mrs. Kanye Resa West in an attempt to feel closer to her most favorite entertainer. Formerly Linda Resa, she appears to be mentally stable, and scoffs at anybody who claims she’s crazy. “I say that they don’t really know Kanye … Until he says I’m crazy, I’m going to keep on going.” said the Chicagoan. And let’s not forget about Drake’s questionable fan who chose to get a tattoo square in the middle of her forhead of the rapper’s moniker. An act that didn’t make the Canadian feel too thrilled.

With such a bombardment of consumer-based products penetrating one’s eyes and ears daily, you’re bound to run into a handful of crazies. So, how does today’s artist develop a personal life without fear of their crazy fan disapproving — and lashing out on unsuspecting parties — is a good question that offers very little resolution. Perhaps more discretion is key. Or stiffer laws need to be created in this paparazzi age. Who knows?

But what is known is that it is high time we all give Rose a break and keep the critiques — and junk-throwing — to ourselves.
