Will It Ever End????

March 6th, 2008

Maybe this is what hip hop needed; something to talk about…something to look forward to. Even though this new cooked platter of hip hop beef began in a violent manner, I haven’t seen this much commotion since Nas and Jay went at it back in 2003. In all honesty, I was hoping Papoose was going to let Fat Joe run his mouth until he got tired and realized no one was listening, but with Pap accepting Joe’s boxing challenge, and putting out a promo/training video with his rhyming beau, Remy Martin, I believe he’s stooping to lower levels. In the spirit of hip hop, I would like for this to transport onto wax and reside their until everything’s said and done! Sidebar: From what I was told, Cassidy was instructed by Fat Joe to leave the room (still working on getting the audio from his Hot 97 interview this morning) before the fracas ensued. I know you’re tired of this situation by now, but do you think Papoose is committing career suicide by going back and forth with Fat Joe or is this exactly what he needed to become relevant again since parting ways with Jive Records? SOOOOOOUND OFFFFFF!!

Who Do YOU Believe???

March 6th, 2008

EXCLUSIVE BET.COM PAPOOSE INTERVIEW HERE!! In no way, shape, or form do we condone hip hop beef or any type of violence for that matter, however I do feel it’s my JOB to keep all of the faithful SoundOff readers and visitors up to speed on this situation. By now we’ve heard bits and pieces from both parties and have yet been able to come to a clear conclusion as to what REALLY happened in that hotel room the night of February 29th, 2008. Stemming from 50 Cent filling in for DJ Clue on Power 105 last week, Fat Joe felt a tad bit uneasy by Papoose standing next to 50 (for obvious reasons) while they continued to clown and disrespect Fat Joe and his family. Papoose not denying any of these activities, states he in fact had nothing to do with the disrespectful commentary. Curious as to why this had to result in a big brawl, I ponder the thought of why this couldn’t have been settled during a closed door meeting. I mean if Jay and Nas can sit down with each other, I don’t see why it’s not a feasible option between these two. While Fat Joe has been telling his side of the story to many different outlets, Papoose has been pretty mum about the situation (except for his Hot 97 phone interview this morning and a brief appearance on Big Von’s radio show out in LA this past Monday)…until now!! BET.com talked EXCLUSIVELY with Papoose this evening for an extensive interview about his intentions on remaining silent about the situation, the positive role he plays in Hip Hop, his label situation and if he’ll be the bigger man by not responding to anymore of Fat Joe’s accusations. Check out this brief quote from our interview with Papoose.  “Anybody could get punched in their face. What’s the big deal? C’mon man, you not superthug. It could happen to anybody. This dude is a coward.”
Scroll down to listen to both Fat Joe and Papoose’s sides of the story and make sure you check back with BET.com tomorrow for the exclusive interview with Papoose ! Shouts to Splash for the audio. Now that you’ve heard both sides, you already know what to do….SOUND OFF!
