$150 Million…..YES SIR!!!

Hate if you want, but this man epitomizes what EVERY rapper is pursuing to achieve. I’m sure by now you’ve all heard that S.Dot is in the closing stages of locking in a $150 Million deal with concert conglomerate, Live Nation. From what I’ve been reading online this morning, a majority of you are in awe of this historic deal. While “He’s not worth that much”, “He’s going to make them lose so much money”, and “He fell off and doesn’t sell anymore albums” were the reoccurring sentiments in a bunch of the blog comment sections, a lot of you know deep down inside, you don’t believe a third of what you’re saying.
What a majority of you have failed to realize is that Live Nation is not here to put out Jay-Z albums, they’re main focus is to basically brand the artist they chose to partner up with. Any idiot can see record sales are at an all-time low, so what sense would it make for them to sign Hov solely to distribute his albums????
“Live Nation would finance the start-up of a venture that would be an umbrella for his outside projects, which are expected to include his own label, music publishing, and talent consulting and managing. Live Nation is expected to contribute $5 million a year in overhead for five years, with another $25 million available to finance Jay-Z’s acquisitions or investments, according to people in the music industry briefed on the agreement. The venture, to be called Roc Nation, will split profits with Live Nation.”
Forget they’re giving this man a $25 Million advance, but they’re also paying him $25 Million to just SPEND money on things he may want to invest in…..FORGET AN ALBUM SALE! And then to top it off, he’s STILL going to sell albums. Whether you believe it or not, the man can still rap his ass off. And with the MONSOON of money (my new favorite word) he’s swimming in, LORD KNOWS what he could pull off promotion and marketing wise.
Rappers….PLEASE take notes! Put down your blunts, pull up your pants, stop waving your pistols in front of the DVD camera’s, quit dissing each other and learn how to BRAND yourself. This right here ladies and gents….is what REAL money looks like…..SWEET!
Go ahead, I know you ALLL are dying to give me your two cents. Is he worth this much, or did LiveNation make a HUGE mistake???

I think the venture will be great for him. He csn add that to the bank along with the rest of what he earned in his music/business career. Jay-E is a very talented and smart business man and I think he is worth every bit of the money.

Man I don’t know why Jay is always the frontline for haters, He ain’t always been the most popular (ask Pac or Nas), but Nas is even signed somehow with the boi.
Man bottom line $150 Million is every mans dream, and if they ain’t gettin it then they hatin on whoever is gettin it. I ain’t mad at you Jay you that man right now.
