B.E.T. You Haven’t Heard This: Ne-Yo

Ahhh, I love this time of year!! The big homey Ne-Yo is gearing up to release his third solo effort entitled, Year Of The Gentleman. Now, since I’ve been following the modern day Babyface since his first LP, I make it my business to listen to any and everything this man records. And seeing how B.E.T. You Haven’t Heard This is the perfect locality for such an occasion, why not give you guys a taste of what the man’s been working on!
Being the honest comrade I claim to be, I must say his rumored “first” single, “Closer”, from the new body of work didn’t impress me…AT ALL. But today, I stumbled across a new tune titled “Let’s Just Be.” Yeah, this is the one I’ve been looking for! Any male advocate of Ne-Yo can relate to this dude’s story to the highest power of them all. Hell, some of y’all females can too!
From start to finish, I DIGGZ the track….and YOU BETTER as well or I’ll be highly upset (Lol, J/K….but I’m serious). As always, I supply the goods, you supply the commentary. How does Ne-Yo’s new work fair against the rest of his catalog??? And do you agree with the fact that he just might be our generation’s Babyface?? SOUNDDDOFFFFFF!!!

I have to say that I like both of these tracks. He is such a talented and gifted songwriter and singer. It is nice to know that in this time and age that we can still listen to good quality music.

Well, I guess I’ll be the first one to say I’m unimpressed with this “Let’s Just Be” for this reason: Miguel (that guy who sang the mediocre “Getcha Hands Up”) recorded this song a couple years back and it was slated to be on the Young and Free album that never was. It’s old news…now in ‘08, Ne-Yo’s gonna *@*#$# it back and try to breathe life into a dead dog? I’ve been saying Shaffer was running out of steam…
