If someone doesn’t sit his ass down, I WILL! Before I stage dive into this memoir of thoughts on Soulja Boy’s absurd jewelry acquisitions, know that I’m in no way hating on this young man. This more like one of those punches your older brother (or older sister in my case) gave you when you show signs of moronic activity in public.
Recently, Mr. Boy decided it’d be best if he not only had a black Lambo in his garage, but if he also had one swinging from his neck. Covered in black diamonds. Did I mention it was a remote control car? Is this registering in your skull yet or have you tuned this rant out since it’s dealing with Soulja Boy?
From afar, I admire Soulja. I commend his persistence in clawing his way into a game where one minute they love you and the next they treat you like Sarah Palin. I respect the lane he’s created, the B.S. he’s endured and the success he’s celebrated. But GOD DAMN IT, if someone doesn’t come get this fool, he’s going to loose it all faster than Stephon Marbury on UStream (so sad).
I’ve grasped the fact this lil nugget is just a kid and the things his wide eyes have viewed in the past 24 months aren’t of the norm. I understand the success- which many doubted to begin with- is a huge slap to the cheek of every OG tried to strip of the little tyke once he experienced a milligram of it. I get it, but does he?
Does he understand the magnitude of influence he possess over the young mindz of our urban youth? Has it marinated that he basically has the power to persuade the most IGNORANT of the ignorant to sway some, not all, of their life choices? Whether this kid likes it or not- HE’S A ROLE MODEL.
I know he didn’t sign up for the task. However, he embarked on the journey once he signed up for a Youtube account, pressed “SEND” on that email blast for “Crank That” and appeared on EVERY award show known to man kind. Of course the lil dude can ball out of control every once in awhile- WHY NOT? I would. I’d also track back to my origins and throw some of that moolah at my community.
I’d also send some of my homies through college (if i was his age). I’d also invest in other entities besides a clothing line, record label or shoe deal. This kid has the WORLD at his fingerprints and yet refuses to SINCERELY tap into his resources. Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself cause I’m a bit older and I have a few lil knuckleheads who look to me for guidance every now and then, so excuse the parental/guidance counselor commentary (blame it on Mama LowKey).
All I’m sayin is, in the nicest and most polite way possible….SOMEONE COME GET THIS FOOL RIGHT FREAKING NOW. Ok, that is all. Good day, lol!

Honestly, why do you care so much. Who gives a rut. I personally dont think too hard about because if the worst you can do is judge a kid for having too much fun with his money (which he is making plenty more) then you got either too much time on your hands or your priorities are backwards. Hes a kid let him live his life. Hes not beating anybody up and his spending only seems out of control because you know what he is spending his money on. Im not saying I completly agree with his spending habits, im just saying this is just a weak topic when there is so much more serious things in the music industry to worry about. (Not that Souljaboy is better, but honestly, I dont see any young folk worshiping Souljaboy as much as they do Lil Wayne..and that is a problem
God ppl he aint a god just a normal lil boy who sings, let him waste his money dont all kids ur only young once and its each to their own and everyone has their own mind so if someone chooses to follow him thats on them

Swag was way out b4 souljaboy. He just made a hot song to it. JayZ may a song a while back to it. I do not get why u hating on him. He is young give him a chance to figure things out. Maybe he dont have a adult around him but in time he will see things a little clearer.

The point that Low Key is trying to emphasize is every rising star has to eventually fall, at the rate he’s going his fall will be swifter than his climb. He is young but he is also being enabled by adults profiting from his wealth. Who is thinking about what’s in the best interest of this young talent for his future. His management should be checking up on his late night antics, such as his vulgar twitters and his blatant disrespect. Talent is 30% and business is 70%.I wouldn’t want to see anyone taking advantage of industry or not but clearly someones dropping the ball. I would teach this young man how to handle his enormous success and invest his earnings wisely so when he tops off he would have a mountain to sit on!
