Get ready for an OVERDOSE of President Carter aka Ice Berg Slim aka Young Turbo aka The God MC aka Jay Hova but bka (better known as) JAY-Z! On my way to work, I took in all that is Vibe’s 15th Anniversary issue. I can tell you from FRONT to BACK, that had to be one of the best magazine issues I’ve read to DATE. Even sans the Jay feature, that issue STILL reigned supreme in my eyes.
However, with the Jay feature, it made it THAT much better to take in. Elliot Wilson, former Editor-In-Chief of XXL, dug extremely deep into Jay-Z’s twisted but intricate soul and found some goooood ish. From Beyonce to Lil Wayne to Dame Dash, Hova reveals what many of us have been pondering for the last 72 months (do the math, lol). Ready??? Alright, here we go….
Jay-Z on Dame Dash’s involvement in his feud with Cam’ron
“I’ve never said this before, but any second-guessing went away when Dame was participating in the whole beef [with Cam'ron]. Regardless, what we built was precious. At the end of the day, there’s still a respect in that. No matter WHAT! I’m not going to do or say certain things about Dame. That’s out of respect for what we’ve done. I’m not going to go too far. And I just felt like any participation in that, whether you could stop it or not, if you’re in the video or you’re on the set or you’re involved in that, then I pretty much made the right decision”
Jay-Z on confirming whether or not Beyonce and him are married
“That’s ridiculous for me to confirm. I don’t have….I’m gonna say, I think that was a ridiculous question. I just think it’s really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself. You have to, or you’ll go insane in this type of business. You have to have something that’s sacred to you and the people around you. I shared so much of my life, my childhood, and my family. the death of my nephew with the world. I should have something to hold on to. “He first approached me as a fan. When he felt like he was close enough, he was like, ‘Maybe I can take his head off’ [laughs]—which is natural. I think he really is a fan of mine. I think he really loves the sh*t that I’ve done. But as a person, as a competitor, that’s only natural. There was a time when Kobe thought he could take Jordan. I admire that in a way, so I don’t see any reason not to get on the album. The public has him in line next, and for me to say he’s not in line next would be foolish. That’s what the public says. So, why not?”

“AG set the foundation all over again, and it made everybody say, ‘Whoa, hold up for a second’. It quelled those arguments [that Jay had fell off], and those arguments were not founded. That’s just how it happens. That’s what keeps it fresh for me. I love that challenge. The day people just top and say, ‘He’s the greatest….Oh just forget it, there’s never going to be anyoen to touch him’. Once that’s everyone’s opinion, then that’s it for me”.
Wait, it’s not over. Remember that show I went to two nights ago? Well, Mr. Ye had another show off fest last night and guess who he brought out to play? Yep you guessed it, Big Brother Jay-Z. Oh but this wasn’t your regular, “letmebringjayzoutsopeoplecangobonkers” appearance, these two had a nice lil plan up their expensive sleeves. Toying with the emotions of every soul in the building, Kanye played a lil game of, “Name that tune”, and since obviously the tune was BRAND SPANKING NEW BORN BABY new, he brought out Mr.Z to assist in the sing a long festivities, lol. I love this man! He’s BRILLIANT, TALENTED, INTELLIGENT, AND SEXY as hell. He’s a role modle to young men and women out there wanting to serpress their dreams and goals. I am a very big fan sinse day one with him and foxy brown’s “I’ll be Good.” It doesn’t get any hotter than that, plus he has the hottest chick in the game whom is my favorite r&b artist.(I wanna be Beyonce’ when I grow up!) (LOL) Keep doing what you do J, you inspire and change people’s lives. You’ve certinly changed mine. Jay-Z. A legend. How about, Barack Obama, a legend. Oprah Winfrey? Colin Powell? Jay-Z has not scratched the surface of legendary status. Yes, he is a great lyricist and a shrewd businessman. But a legend. Legends do and are awarded for things that no one else has done. We, as a society should not attach these labels to artist when the standards are set so high. So, am I saying that someone else can accomplish what Jaz has accomplished? YES! YES! YES! Aretha Franklin. Michael Jackson. John Lennon. Sammy Davis Jr. B.B. King. Diana Ross. Johnny Cash. James Brown. Bob Dylan. Quincy Jones. Loretta Lynn. Nat King Cole. Smokey Robinson. SHOULD I GO ON? NO! I think you get the picture. THESE ARE LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!
Yess he is here to stay. Yes Jay is here to stay, Hova is what is ,and alway will be about hip-hop. progression and a completness of ones self. You can take his first album to his present and you can see his growth lyrically and as a man.He has kepted hip-hop alive. If Lil wayne is Doctor Carter then Jay is the Ceo Cheif Surgeon .hip-hop truly would be dead if it wasn’t for this entertainer and Business Man. If you look at what he has done to hip-hop from being the greatest force in helping put out the only positive main stream hip-hop music out there, by putting ye in a position to help common,and talib. How can you not lable this man a legend, No he is not bb king or Diana Ross but what he has done for hip-hop has not been done, and the way it’s going I can’t see anyone having the same effect as him.
I’m gonna have to give it to him. He is a monster, and he is coming back. I do agree with elliot, up above, he is not the definition of LEGEND on a historical level, but he is a great no doubt.

When rap music was first introduced to the world, there was a message. A message so clear as if it was right in your face. Unemployment, poverty, crime, and the people that were affected by that message, understood that message. But when the movement ( hip-hop movement or hip-hop music )
arrived everything changed. Many of these artist compromised their lyrical creativity ( by degrading women and repeating stereotypyes ) to obtain fame and wealth and in my opinion, Jay-z is one of those artists. Entreperneur, great businessman, great lyricist? YES! Legend? NO!
yeah its aight. But Jay had better singles. Hopefully the Album is hot. American Gangster is not his best work
E.L.L.I.O.T. took the words right out of my mouth w/ his last post. Also, a musical legend should have MORE albums that solidify his/her greatness. Jay-Z has what…2 – “Reasonable Doubt” & “The Blueprint”??? That’s it? That’s not musical legendary status in my book.

All this talk about Jay-z being a legend, he is not it came out of his own mouth “the best rapper alive) if you are a legend you would be the best ever not just alive. 2 pac was a legend because he is the best rapper ever, Micheal Jordan is a legend because he was the best to ever step on the court died or alive those are legends Jay-Z just a good rapper.
Jay-Z look, you are a very talented African American Man and I love your music. You can’t leave us now. Although we still bump to some of your records from back in the day, we still want to hear what you haven’t leashed out yet. Don’t retire. Keep on keeping on. And you are correct. Although the fans want to know about you and the lovely and talented Beyonce’, you two do need to keep somethings private. In due time you’ll let us know what ’s going on.

All comments was good in one’s on way. However at the end of the day jay and Dame need to put a nice clean cover over this issue for good. Both youngmen are very intellingent and highly respected. One have to understand that we in whatever we do there will be issues, Its how you handle and bring close to the issue. As blackmen Jay and Dame, with their
accompolishments should be kept postive.

What Ive read up on Blueprint 3, Jay-Z, Kanye & Timo:
Timbaland will have his hands on one or two tracks although Kanye is producing most of the Blueprint 3. Other rumored producers are just rumors. No official release date drop late summer of 2009.
Expect a concept DVD to accompany Blueprint 3. With all the videos directed by Director Hugo V who is being called “The Quentin Tarantino of Music Videos”.
