Jay-Z & Nas To Drop Album Together?
February 25th, 2008
Jay-Z & Nas…
The latest rumor has Jay-Z and Nas collaborating on a full-length album entitled, Kings Of Hip-Hop.
This one doesn’t sound right by the title alone. I would hope that two of the greatest lyricists of all-time could come up with a better title. Anyway, is it likely to happen? And if it does, do we care? I’m a longtime Nas supporter, but this rumor doesn’t have me the least bit excited. What about you guys? Speak on it!

I think it would be great for Hip Hop, as two of the greastest MCs in the history of this genre to collaborate. Yet, this should have happen five years ago. Both Jay and Nas are still influential artist with enough support to make this project successful. Two different styles and creative differences will push a project of this nature to the limits. I’m more afraid that rap will not be able to rebound from a project of this magnitude. Right now Hip Hop is about following a trend. When something is productive people tend to follow the same mode. In this case, marketing and an enormous advance will not be needed. Jay and Nas names’ will sell this CD/Album. Thus, it can’t be duplicated. This would start a trend of failure for other artist. The title should read the “TKO” because this album would completely but the rap game in a CHOKE HOLD!
