Nas Hearts Jesse Jackson….NOT!
July 11th, 2008
Honestly, what the hell was Jesse Jackson thinking?? I mean seriously, I’m not the most political individual on the face of this earth, but I damn sure know and idiotic statement such as the one Jesse Jackson made is probably the worst thing you can do next to supporting John McCain (kidding, sort of!) Anyway, this past Sunday, Mr. Jackson revealed his true colors to Reed V. Tuckson, the former chief medical officer for the District of Columbia and President of the Charles Drew University in Los Angeles while waiting to be interviewed on a Fox News program (figures) and said, “Barack has been talking down to black people, I wanna cut his nuts off”. WHAT THE HELL ?????
Who in their right mind would have the guts to even say that in an atmosphere such as that? And why the HELL is he even saying it to another individual when they didn’t even ask how he felt about the man in the first place? Well, word got back to Mr. Untitled, and since it’s already known Nasir and Jesse aren’t BFF (Best Friends Forever), his response was already deemed a classic before I heard it lol. During a conference call, that I missed yesterday, (I’m such an ass), Nas answered
“I think Jesse Jackson, he’s the biggest player hater. His time is up. All you old n—as, time is up. We heard your voice, we saw your marching, we heard your sermons. We don’t wanna hear that sh– no more. It’s a new day. It’s a new voice. I’m here now. We don’t need Jesse; I’m here. I got this. We got Barack, we got David Banners and Young Jeezy’s. We’re the voice now. It’s no more Jesse. Sorry. Goodbye. You ain’t helping nobody in the ‘hood. That’s the bottom line. Goodbye, Jesse. Bye!”
Right on Nas! From this day on, Jesse’s views on anything worth discussing mean SQUAT to me. What merits that type of dialogue with or about anyone? We’re on the brink of having our FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT and the best thing you can come up with is “I want to cut his NUTS OFF”. You washed up civil rights activist, matter fact, your civil rights pass has been revoked, kick rocks Jesse! Hell, even his son was pissed..
“I’m deeply outraged and disappointed in Reverend Jackson’s reckless statements about Senator Barack Obama. His divisive and demeaning comments about the presumptive Democratic nominee – and I believe the next president of the United States – contradict his inspiring and courageous career. Reverend Jackson is my dad and I’ll always love him, but he should know how hard that I’ve worked for the last year and a half as a national co-chair of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. So, I thoroughly reject and repudiate his ugly rhetoric. He should keep hope alive and any personal attacks and insults to himself.”
Of course, Jesse issued some lame ass apology….
“I apologize,” Rev. Jackson said Wednesday. “My support for Senator Obama’s campaign is wide, deep and unequivocal. I cherish this redemptive and historical moment. My appeal was for the moral content of his message, to not only deal with the personal and moral responsibility of Black males, but to deal with the collective moral responsibility of government and the public policy which would be a corrective action for the lack of good choices that often led to their irresponsibility.”
Wheeewww, ethered by Nas and his own son! That’s almost worse than crying on a phone call (sorry, Buck!)
Am I overreacting???? Let me know…..
Oh, and I definitely don’t believe that half ass apology…..TRY AGAIN!
Big shouts to Pamela for the additional quotes! Check out what she had to say about the matter right here…..
Sincerely

Jessica if you listened to the album than you would understand why he named it $#@@#$. I think this is going to be the best Hip Hop cd in a long time. I was mad when I heard the tittle at first, but if you listen to the cd, than you will know why he named it that. Nas is one of the most straight foward people I know that is in the public eye. He say what he feels and he does not retract his statement or apologize for it. Joe, its not Nas fault that black men or in jail and you have ignorance in the hood. That was going on before Nas and it will continue to happen after Nas. These or the things you should bring up to Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton. They the first ones on the scene when there is racial tension between Blacks and Whites, but what are they doing to help educate the black men, so they can stay out of the white justice system? What are they doing for the Black woman to teach her to bring her up to love herself and do for herself, so she won’t allow herself to be exploited by the black man. Where are the marches and the boycotts Jessie and Al? They are the main people talking about unity and up lifting Black People, one of our own is about to take the position of leading this Country, and all Jessie can do is talk negative about him. So much for Black Unity
I’m not at all surprised at the so called “Rev. ” Jackson’s comment…
He is still “trippin” about his running for president back in his day…
The entire nation should not give him any press time, because he will use it only for his narcisisstic demeanor….
If anyone’s nuts be cut off, they should be his….Rev, married with illigitimate children….give me a break…..He is too tired….time to sit down, BYE, BYE…
Nobody should be surprised that Jesse Jackson made a comment like that…..he is the biggest “fake” there is out there! He needs to realize his time was up decades ago and he is on the outside looking in!JHey Jesse…..Barack is the new phenomenon and your irrelevant!
CHUUCH!!!
It’s a shame that a religious leader could say something like that about Barack Obama.. I mean really was that the Christian thing to do? No it wasnt! Coming from a Reverend –itz rediculous! Im just very disappointed at Jesse Jackson & I understand that he apologized but still its not a good look for the black nor the religous community at all! — GOD BLESS OBAMA & I WISH HIM NOTHING BUT THE BEST!!! ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE PEOPLE!!!
I can’t believe I’m responding on BET, one of the most ignorant networks out there for blacks. We’ve all said some stupid crap in our life. But for folks like NAS who hasn’t done even an inch of what Jesse Jackson has done in his lifetime to try and blast Jesse is stupid. How rappers like Nas, TI, Ludicrous and the bet network has glorified pimping and hoeing, and then for the same types of folks to talk crap about Jesse Jackson? Please read up on your history before you talk about things Jesse hasn’t done. When the Louisiana govt want to put the young black men in prison for a school fight…I remember Jesse speaking up for them. I don’t remember seeing NAS. When a man got shot 50 times in NY, I remember seeing Al Sharpton. I don’t remember seeing NAS. READ A BOOK and stop using the N word.
Who cares what Jesse Jackson said? People talk about other people all the time. Its just not recorded where others can here.
Maybe instead of criticizing Jesse, maybe NAS should stop using the N word. That might be helpful…you think? Stop blaming Jesse for your problems. Blame the parents for having their kids watch silly rappers like Nas or disgraceful networks like BET.
Sam that is garbage, again as I said Jessie and Al Sharpton only stands up and defend the Black Community in racial situations, but where are they when Black women are being exploited by the black man. That Jena 6 was garbage. Those kids were wrong and the black community is wrong for trying to lift the responsibility off those kids hands when they broke the law. I can see iff the kids were falsely accused, but they did the crime and they need to be held accountable for what they did. What is Al and Jessie doing for the community to educate Black America especially men that there is a better way of life than crime. What are they doing for the black man to keep him from falling victim to the unjustice system? Again if you listened to Nas cd you would understand why he called his cd Nigg##. Great cd Nas I will be the first to buy the cd. Sam you have one thing I can agree on BET is garbage
Why was Rev. Jackson on FOX? FOX News is the Republicans station. If you do not have anything good to say about anybody, keep your mouth closed. He of all people should know better. Out of the abundant of the heart the mouth speakth. This was in his heart. Rev. Jackson should be talking about John McCain. Everybody is focusing on Obama when they should be focusing on McCain. McCain is in stages of Alzheimer and it is going to get worse. He stay confused too much. He have different mood swings. I know about Alzheimer because my mother had it for eight years. To everybody who is reading this please watch John McCain.

All have to say is when a black man gets shot down 60 times + (which will be the number next time) call for Obama, lets see if he answers….he will not.
When the Sean Bell Verdict was announced and Obama asked about it he pretty much said to “respect the verdict” and that ‘we are a nation of laws”.
I assume that he saying that we are a nation of “laws”, Obama was trying to say that
Obama is running for the president of the U.s. if you are looking for leaders, look towards those on the grassroots, local politicans, congress etc..
I don’t want rapper speaking for the blakc community. They cannot define us as a race of people. They do more bad than good.
He is to the right of Condi Rice on some issues. You can support him but be reall about it. Some of the rhetoric that I keep hearing is so ridiculous and you will regret it when the time comes.
Pimp I know why he claims to have named his album what he did. But if he wanted to really open up the discussion he could have done it in a better way. It is all in the packaging and I bet you that when his album comes out (if it hasn’t already… I wouldn’t know) he won’t sell as much as he would have had he not used that derogatory term. What he did was only turn me off from buying his album. I am certainly not going to rush out to buy something when I feel offended by it. Take Barack Obama for example… here you have a positive black man with a positive message but he is not running around calling people n&##2rs just so people will listen to him. You don’t have to use ignorance, or rather stupidity in order to get people to listen to you. If he is as intelligent as some of you claim he could have found a different way to get people to listen to his message. No one really cares for him anymore and that is probably the main reason he thought titling his album this would get more attention. Now I don’t approve of what Jesse Jackson said by any means.. I could care less about what Nas the disrespectful rapper (and I am being nice calling him that) has to say about it.
hello its ashame on black man can make all of us look bad jj got white folks saying its just like blacks to put each other down jj is no reverend he uses that to get what he needs he is a false rev what rev do you know would say that i dont know any barock do you when you win jesse will be on the bandwagon trying to get in good with you. also go to my website http://www.youravon.com/williecrawford get what you need im a young black man trying to make it
Can we agree on this one point that we all have our faults. I think Mr. Jackson stuck his foot in his and I do not agree with the title of Nas Album; but we need to unite people. If you do not agree with someone then express it to them. Stop making the race as a whole look like a??e? Remember you represent your mother, father, family and race when you open your mouth.
will this really post?
I’m glad Nas spoke out about this one. He is very conscious in terms of black issues. Not to mention that he is so dang fine! I was reading the story and kept thinking dang he’s FINE! Don’t even care what the hell Jesse Jackson had to say. LOL! I’m just trippin’ y’all… LOL!
Hip hop was once a vehicle for the expression of many voices, truth, and a big tent. However, big business has taken control of this genre. It will probably never be the same. check the soundscan!
When they list the most influential African American’s of all time, I’m very certain that Nas will not be listed even in the glossary section!
I work at a At Risk facility for juvenile’s who are in trouble with the criminal justice system. We constantly tell the youth that they’re not the “N” word to help build self-esteem. Unfortunately, Hip Hop has added to swell their numbers and further spin our black youth (mostly males) into a unending cycle of incarceration. Please Nas, you are not helping us, we’re on the frontlines trying to reclaim our youth!
obviously… i dont care……
Are we not oversimplifying things? Hip Hop and incarceration?! What the heck happened to being responsible for your own actions. Can we stop blaming others (whites, music, movies, video games, etc) for the ills of our society? I am a single mother who has raised a son that is black, educated, with no children and a job. He listened to Hip Hop, he played video games and he watched action movies. He also knew that I would break my foot off in his rear, if he didn’t obey me. I didn’t need a man, a school or a probation officer to raise my son. Don’t get it twisted he is not perfect nor am I. But I want to know, can we as blacks go back to the basics – taking care of our own. That doesn’t mean just our own biologically, but our own as a race of people that were once proud, hard working and UNITED?
