Neyo Celebrates Mother’s Day In A Major Way

Neyo is making sure the foster mothers of Atlanta are being recognized for their motherly contributions. This Mother’s Day (May 11), Neyo’s charity organization, Compound Foundation, is hosting a special Mother’s Day brunch for 50 extraordinary foster care mother’s from the Atlanta metro area.
Earlier today I spoke with Neyo about the event, check out what he had to say. “My foundation, Compound Foundation, is doing a Mother’s Day brunch for all the foster mothers in Atlanta. It’s just basically something to let them know we appreciate the stuff they’ve been doing. There’s no bigger responsibility then taking care of children and it’s an even bigger responsibility when you’re taking care of someone else’s children. That’s major. This brunch is for my mom, and all the mother’s that put it down for their families.”
He also credits his mother for his existence in music today “My mom is the one who put the pad and pen in my hand and told me to write it down” Neyo said. “If not for that moment, I probably wouldn’t be doing music at all.”

You the man. And to all the Mom’s out there, natural, surrogate, foster, auntie’s, sister’s, any woman who has the heart to try and MOTHER anyone’s child. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY. I lost my mother 22 years ago. And I miss her EVERYDAY. I was raised by my mom, grandmother and aunt. I was and am blessed. I am now a mother. I have one child. 17 yr. old-male. He is a wonderful son. God has truly blessed me with this boy and he is and will be a good man because of his mother’s (my mom, grandmom, etc.) before him. Mother’s (good mother’s) continue to hold it down. God Bless you all.

That is so special I’m a foster Mom and let me tell you there’s no better joy knowing I help a child know they deserve to be loved and cared for like everyone else.

Hi NEYO, you are so wonderful to do something like this. Actually, somebody has to do it. Some people don’t understand, this is what we are SUPPOSED to be doing–helping others and loving each other so, THANKS AGAIN!! I am going to adopt a child soon.
