Neyo Celebrates Mother’s Day In A Major Way

Neyo is making sure the foster mothers of Atlanta are being recognized for their motherly contributions. This Mother’s Day (May 11), Neyo’s charity organization, Compound Foundation, is hosting a special Mother’s Day brunch for 50 extraordinary foster care mother’s from the Atlanta metro area.
Earlier today I spoke with Neyo about the event, check out what he had to say. “My foundation, Compound Foundation, is doing a Mother’s Day brunch for all the foster mothers in Atlanta. It’s just basically something to let them know we appreciate the stuff they’ve been doing. There’s no bigger responsibility then taking care of children and it’s an even bigger responsibility when you’re taking care of someone else’s children. That’s major. This brunch is for my mom, and all the mother’s that put it down for their families.”
He also credits his mother for his existence in music today “My mom is the one who put the pad and pen in my hand and told me to write it down” Neyo said. “If not for that moment, I probably wouldn’t be doing music at all.”

NE-YO! I agree 100% I was sitting here yesterday feeling guilty and confused about whether or not I should get my aunt who raised my favorite cousin b/c her mother is not around, a mothers day gift. The part that confused me is how my cousin would feel, would she think I was implying that my aunt whom is raising her is trying to be her mom, and I just didn’t want any bs drama. But anyways good foster parents should definately be notice cause mine is a good too, and I could’ve had a lot worst after hearing my friends tell me what they’ve went through I almost feel guilty b/c I didn’t have it so bad.

Hey ne-yo i just want to give u a shout out for doing something that a lot of people don’t think about. I think it is a very beautiful thing for people to take in someone they dont know and raise them like their own and it was very big of u to acknowledge that muc luv keep doing what u do

I want to shout out to my Auntie Sarah Hairston. She has always been a wonderful foster parent to may young girls. And this was after she raised her own four children. Happy Mothers Day Auntie!

As a mother this truely touched my heart and soul. As we know a mothers job is never done rather u are a mother/father raising a child. And to feel appreciated on any day is mothers day.
