On Location: Las Vegas

June 9th, 2008

Greetings earthlings! Yes I know….. I’ve been gone way toooo long right? Well, since the Red Rock Resort chose to cut my incidentals off because I wouldn’t cough up $300 for the deposit, my internet access was removed from the tip of my fingers. With that said, throughout the week I’ll be dishing out mini blurbs of my weekend excursion to Sin City for Nelly’s Brass Knuckles Celebrity event.

On this particular trip down memory lane, I’ll touch on my first night (Friday, June 6). To say the least, it was rather interesting. The Red Rock Resort/Spa.Casino is probably one of the SICKEST spots I’ve ever laid my head at. Equipped with an insanely lavish pool, a bowling alley (more on that later), a movie theater (Zohan is probably the funniest movie next to Grandma’s Boy) and of course the casino, it didn’t bother us one bit that we were stuck on the property the entire weekend (we were about 25 minutes from the actual strip)

After a bite to eat, we hit the room (which could be mistaken for a one bedroom apartment; a very expensive one) for a little R&R and then skated off to the Fashion Show Mall (Yes, that’s the actual name). Probably one of the most complex shopping areas I’ve ever visited, the mall had an actual fashion show running every hour. What blew my mind was that the stage disappeared into the ground at the conclusion of each show. CLASSIC!

Watching the opposite sex strut back and forth for several hours kept us busy until the shuttle came back for us. We went back to the room, switched attire and headed to the VIP dinner at this Japanese eatery called Hiachi. Nelly, Sylvia Rhone, Murphy Lee, Chingy and a bevy of others were in attendance as we ate some of the most obscure looking dishes known to mankind.

After downing two bottles of Sapparo beer and a STRONG L.I.T., I wobbled my simple self to the bowling alley where I somehow managed to keep the ball out of the gutter for about 95% of the game. Three young honey dips joined me and TGeezy, in which one of them proceeded to tell us how her former beau diminished their domestic connection since she beat him in a bowling game (after spending 45 minutes with shorty doo wop, I was easily convinced it WASN’T the bowling match that tore them apart). After that, the night was pretty much a blur….I swear I can’t remember how in the hell I made it back to my room.

Tomorrow, check back for another Las Vegas reminiscing session; it only gets better. Scroll down for a couple flicks I snatched before the start of my Saparro journey.

Sincerely

Low “Bowling under the influence; BEST THING EVER” Key

Nelly and his comrades having a grand ol time!

Even if my life depended on it, I couldn’t tell you what this was, but it was GREAT!
