Pen To The Pad…

March 14th, 2008

To be completely honest, anyone that’s reading this has probably attempted to write a song or two due to a contagious tune they were truly infatuated with. It got so bad, you landed right on the runway of “If she/he can do it, why can’t I,” right? Unfortunately for you, it didn’t turn out as planned, huh? Well Sean Garrett aka “The Pen” just might be the messiah of penning infectious tunes for the “I-Pod” generation, so you might want to play close attention to this rising star, he might just give you a few pointers.

His new single “Grippin” featuring Ludacris, has already cause quite a stir on different radio outlets, is preparing to cause some visual commotion on BET, VH1 & MTV and has probably started some hullabaloo (look it up) in some bedrooms scattered around the country lol. LowKey had the opportunity to catch up with “The Pen” earlier this week for an exclusive interview. Read Sean’s definition for his album title Turbo 919:

“Turbo 919 is just a representation of my person. It’s sort of like, I’m the Black James Bond; my album is dangerous, romantic, sexy and it has swagger. Turbo 919 represents the future; it’s futuristic to a certain degree but at the same time it’s in the now . Hopefully when you listen to the album, there’s nothing that you hear on their that will make you think it’s dated.”

Check out Sean’s resume below (this isn’t even half his catalogue).

“Goodies” by Ciara, “Yeah” by Usher, “Run It” by Chris Brown, “Upgrade U” by Beyonce, “Grillz” by Nelly, “Buttons” by The Pussycat Dolls, “Soldier” by Destiny Child, “Make A Girl Feel” by Teairra Mari, “Like This” by Kelly Rowland. “Whatever You Want” by Nicole Scherzinger, “London Bridge” by Fergie.

After listening to Sean’s new single, “Gripping” do you think it’s safe to say he’ll have a successful recording career singing this or should he stick to penning the hits…SOUND OFF!!
