Five big dogs prep their 4th quarter offerings, who’s coming out on top?? Talk about clash of the titans, 5 of hip hop’s brightest stars are gearing up to thrash the industry with a flurry of new music, so much in fact, we all might get lost in transition. With November right around the corner, the first arsenal of new material released will come from the vocoder vocalist himself, T-Pain. Three Ringz,(November 11) from what we’ve heard thus far, is blanketed with features (Chris Brown, Ludacris, Lil Wayne). And though that doesn’t read badly about the project, it does give us the ambiance of collaborative effort instead of a solo one.
Next up to bat; Ludacris (Theater of the Mind) and Kanye West (808’s and Heartbreak)! An interesting match up, to say the least, these two outspoken MC’s probably have no intentions of creating a malicious throw down against one another, but I’m pretty sure, given the competitive nature of both parties, Luda and Ye are both looking to knock each others heads off come November 25. “Love Lockdown”, Ye’s first single that’s accumulated “Yeh and Neh” sentiments, has solidified a #3 place of residence on the BillBoard 100 chart for the past three weeks (the single was also released three weeks ago) while Luda’s first offering, “What Them Girls Like” co-starring Sean Garrett and Chris Brown, currently resides at #49.
Finally, President Carter and Curtis “Interscope” Jackson (50 Cent you guys, damn lol) plan to heat up December with their respective releases! Jay, who will roll out the Blueprint 3 red carpet on December 2, has remained mum about his project, but what we do know is Kanyeezy has strong armed the production duties from Timbo Tha King and won’t let go until Jay says uncle.
Fiddy, who’s releasing Before I Self Destruct on December 9, on the other hand, hasn’t said a word about what’s cooking in the G-Unit kitchen. We’ve heard minor rumblings about him, Dre and Em playing footsies in the studio last weekend, but that didn’t reveal much about none of their projects. However, I did manage to find out that 50 is planning to release a cut this week with production duties by both, Dre and Scott Storch (hmm, interesting).
With saying ALLL of that, out of what we’ve heard so far, what album are you copping/downloading/bootlegging this fourth quarter and why????
Sincerely
Low “I’ll be downloading/bootlegging all of em. Oh, you think I won’t?” Key
TAGS: 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Kabye West, LowKey, Ludacris, T-Pain
Luda gonna have the best album and mite have the most sales in the end.
I’ll be bootlegging T-pain and Curtis for sure for sure! Epiphany was super okay and Curtis was pretty wack considering the lack of growth from The Massacre. I will say however depening on first listen of those two, if they’re solid projects I’ll cop them, but they’re on paroll with ya boy. As far as Luda, Jay, and Yay I’ll have those release day. Release Therapy, Graduation, and American Gangster were instramental in breathing life back into hip hop, I can’t wait to hear how these next projects will bring hip hop back to dominance.
